I'n a sponge right now for everything drawer related so YT put your video in my list! I have a 'what would YOU do question (and welcome other commenters' views too!) regarding the overall width in this situation: On my Island, I have my cabinet box with 3/4" ends, then I have a finished shaker end panel which is another 3/4"; I'm debating myself as to whether I should make the drawer fronts with the reveal to cabinet box end, or to the end panel? So in essence the fronts will either have a 1/8" reveal to the end panel, or if to the cabinet box, would make it 3/4 + 1/8 to the end panel. If this was cabinet with drawer plus doors, it would HAVE to be the latter - but it's all drawers (like your video) then I have option.

Thats a good ass question.

I would do them to the side of the cabinet...it is a personal preference.....

I've been slowly converting to using mm when building cabinets, built ins etc, and it's not nearly as scary as you might think. In fact using imperial measurements while working within the 32mm framework is actually more difficult unless you're just gonna start rounding stuff. Fast cap has a tape measure that is imperial and metric. It's costs 10 bucks get one and figure it out. You're just making this stuff harder than it needs to be.
@johnnynephrite61475 күн бұрын
@@sedgetool just joking. making fun of the metric illiterate. Way better system than imperial.
@ogwoodworks5 күн бұрын
This. Just use a metric tape measure and you don’t have to convert anything. There are good reasons why guys like Sedge and Jason Bent use metric for cabinet making. Why faff around with fractions when you can work with whole numbers?
@johnnynephrite61474 күн бұрын
Metric is better than Imperial hands down. I just like to poke sarcasm at Imperialists.
