My favorite brand without a doubt is Revlon Super Lustrous. Over the years after trying different brands, I always go back to Revlon. My very favorite color is Rosedew. It's pearl finish and quite neutral. I always prefer the pearl finish, but its not too much......just flattering.

I agree! I cannot imagine a world without Revlon. I have so many of their lipsticks and have been purchasing them since I was a teenager (too many years to state) and love the Super Lustrous lipsticks. Milani and L'Oreal Paris are also good, but do not have the breadth of Revlon's shades.

I agree 100%. I am not a make up person. But sometimes I try some things you know I try to be into a little bit of make up. I get annoyed because every make up video starts with “ I’m so excited about this new product…” Eyeroll. Your video was just very good. It gave comparisons you talked about different aspects of the lipstick, and you gave the prices. Also, I liked how you laid your arm down on that silk cloth in the background. That was crazy. So yes , more videos like this would be great.

6:05 Laura Rae Beauty: Your undertone is warm and the Besame 'Portrait Peach' is far more flattering for your skin tone and undertone. The Maybelline 'Romantic Rose' is too cool and looks ashy with your skin. If your issue with the Besame is lack of shimmer, you can easily top it with a gloss.

The Mac and Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury absolutely looks best on you because it’s warm toned, like your skin and hair. I’m very cool toned so I like pinky nudes, mauves, etc and I’m a lipgloss addict for sure! I would really recommend staying away from the mauves and pinks for you….they really don’t match you at all.

It's so cold where I work, winter or summer, that a drier lipstick works for me. My go to has been Revlon Colorstay. It's been my most faithful re-purchase of any and I have yet to try a color I don't love, and it's VERY long wearing, even with my daily coffee thermos. But at home, where I can boost the heat a bit more, my lips feel drier, so I wanted to find something moisturizing. Your video was VERY helpful, and I was happy to see Revlon place so well. You have me curious about Maybelline, also. Since I'm mostly looking for something to moisturize my lips more when I'm at home, I wanted to focus on drugstore brands. Thank you!

Totally agree! Revlon is special. I have their Gold Goddess lipstick to use as a highlighting center of the lips topper for the holidays. It is so moisturizing, and the packaging is solid. And this is a top I got from Laura Rae - adding a gold lipgloss or topper. I want to collect all the Revlon classics.

I like the creamy Maybelline and Revlon. I wear Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink in the color Her Majesty almost daily because it lasts so long. As I have aged (I’m 76!) I really need that pop of color. My favorite drugstore lipsticks are Revlon. I love Revlon's Pink in the Afternoon. My favorite department store brand is Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipsticks in Pink Nude, Pale Mauve or Almost Bare. These Luxe lipsticks are so nice and creamy. They stay on my lips for a long time too. They are not budget friendly at $40 a tube, but I enjoy wearing this lipstick very much. MAC bullet lipsticks are my favorites. My fave shades are Velvet Teddy; Twig and Meyer. I am a dark blonde with green eyes. One thing I don’t like about drugstore lipsticks are some of them have strong smells (I like unscented) or waxy textures, but I’m willing to give your top winner a try!

Revlon Super Lustrous cremes in Desert Escape and Raisin Rage are my current favorites. Desert Escape is a dupe for MAC's Bated Breath and wears better. Toast of New York and Rose Velvet are longtime loves. And the Shine Glass formula from Revlon is so luscious. I think I'd have to give up lipstick (and just do balm) if Revlon went out of business and didn't spin off the lipsticks.

I’ve had the same tube of Besame Chocolate Kiss for over 3 yrs. It’s pigmented, long-wearing, and is not drying or cakey. It feels sweetly vintage, like I’m sneaking into my mom’s purse for a lipstick. The velvet case it comes in is so classy.

Color the World is a little company making cruelty free, beautiful and marvelous products in North Carolina. Their lipsticks are definitely made for those of us who desire non feathering, stay put, creamy and comfortable lipstick with gorgeous color. I don’t know why beauty influencers haven’t discovered it yet. Especially those who address mature women. But my daughter loves them too at thirty! I am 71. Been using CTW products for years. CT Pillowtalk is my #1 favorite- I love Mac in multiple colors. I own probably 50 lipsticks but when I'm going to anything 'special or important' I ALWAYS reach for Pillowtalk! I also LOVE the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in Revolutionary, Lover & Seductress. Layer any of them with the CT Pillow talk on top & you've got a miracle! Add a dab of Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Stone & you'll have SUPER MIRACLE LIPS!

Now nearing my mid 60s, lipsticks suddenly started to become a problem too. Not so much dry lips but wrinkles, around and on the lips. One of the worst was Charlotte Tilbury because she does only matte. No trick helps. A very good one of the inexpensive was Revlon, but becomes now also an undesirable. By consistency I came around Cliniques chubby stick, onlne. It's between a lipstick and a gloss but not sticky and lasts quite well. Colours are rather watercolour-ish but forgiving to older skintones and not so obvious if they fade after eating. And they nourish the skin. I've just ordered another colour. The best is to use a plumping primer and a colourless liner. Can recommend Artdeco, a German brand. One problem sorted, more to do.

One of the best lipstick that I’ve ever found over many years is Rommel lasting finish lipstick. I used to get it in my local CVS but it’s still available online. My favorite color is 08 which is a pink and 14 which is a nude but they have a variety of other shades. It’s far superior to the Revlon and far superior to Charlotte Tilbury and frankly better than most other lipstick so I’ve tried. A quick run her up is the Ulta lipsticks they seem to be very close to the Rommel but give them a try I’d love to see if anyone else is familiar with this

I agree I big lover of lipstick. Then maybe bronzer and foundation. The glow paradise lipstick are great. I’ll leave mine in a skin care refrigerator to keep them from melting when extremely hot here in Hawaii. Love these kinds of videos. And your right Maybelline groups up their lipsticks where it’s easier to purchase. Portrait peach is such stunning color. I find that there are a lot of great drug store lipsticks that can compete against a lot of high end.

Revlon has been and is my favorite brand. It’s what my mother wore. Love That Red and Fire and Ice were colors I’d watch her apply as a child. I have SO many colors. I wish they’d bring back their lip butters. I’ve worn lipstick since I was in 9th grade and I’m now 63. It is my favorite makeup item and I never leave without it. I’ve worn Revlon lipstick for many years. My signature color is Blasé Apricot. They recently discontinued it, and I haven’t been able to find a shade from any other company that comes close to it. I enjoy Clinique lipsticks with primer and their foundation lipsticks because they don’t bleed into the corners. I also like Look Fabulous Forever lustrous lipsticks. The LFF long lasting lipsticks tend to bleed.

I've enjoyed the Estee Lauder Envy lipsticks and now the Color Cream. In my 50' and now 60's, I needed moisture and staying power. I have had a drawerful of other brands but now I'm not moving. Pricey yes - but always in gift deals like Christmas, Mother's Day. Keep your lipsticks on into your 80's!!!!

Currently enjoying Revlon Blushing Mauve. I also bought a Besame lipstick based on Emily Noel's video. Holiday Red looked really heavy/dry on me with too much gold glitter for my comfort level. I did try again with just a dab on top of lip balm and it was better, but I wouldn't buy it again and would return if that had been an option. One more thing about lipstick to mention: the smell and the shape of package with regard to storing. If you use an acrylic lipstick holder, it's great with Revlon but many other's are to big or slant tipped so then you have to have some other system. Being super visual, I love to see all of the choices in a pretty system that makes me happy whenever I see it, rather than rummaging through a drawer. Also the smell of Revlon products is pleasant and doesn't feel cheap or old, like a Grandma's lipstick:) Anyhoo, love this video and appreciate you and yours Laura Rae. Happy Holiday's all!
