This is an update to my God Phoenix model kit builds from Academy.

Thanks for mentioning your paints. I bought that kit. I hadn't been planning to paint the God Phoenix but of course Mark's jet is pure white and I also bought the set of 4 vehicles where Mark's jet is also pure white so I want to buy paint for those. I agree that paint might be a bit light so I'll consider my options.

One guy on youtube mentioned mr hobby #5 Blue. I was trying to match the sprue color but the "real" color is darker. I think Tamiya blue might be too dark. I'm definitely getting a few more sets of this kit to display it with all compartments open!

I like your choice of blue that you mixed, it is far better than most I’ve seen. Most of them paint it waaay too dark and it looks stupid, yours is very close to the tv show. I think the tv show color is very close to Richard Petty’s racing car from the 1970’s with the STP on it. I think it is “Petty Blue”, he was very popular back then.

I'm doing the led stuff too...one bad thing I broke some pegs...like you they were not glue but now I need to glue some parts, I noticed sometimes the holes maybe smaller than the pegs hence when you try to snap on they break,I'm trying to figure out how to do the connections although I suck at such things ...I have everything slightly open and pieces in place and wonder if I should buy a solder gun and wire. Or extra wires to make a better connection.

I hope you show the figures with the kit. One thing always wondered...how the heck so they see outta the Phoenix? There's no front windows?

Can you please do an update on this model... The LEDs made me wanna slam it to the wall outta frustration...I did everything the instructions said and still I no lights also I have no solder gun and the wires are so dam thin I don't know if connect right , or if the wires are connected right. I hope you do another video on the LEDs for those of us that don't do models or have sodering guns and so on.

I second this. I'm building this kit right now and I'm running into the same issues with the LEDs not lighting up.

Just wondering if you plan on Clear Coating the Kit? Just wondering what would look better A Matte or Gloss Finish?

I plan on applying a gloss coat to apply the decals, then not sure if I should go for gloss or matt final coat. I will be using tamiya gloss for decals then testors or mr hobby spray for final.

What color paint did you purchase?

I recommend tamiya red and tamiya brilliant blue spray TS-44. The blue I used in this first one is too light.

This kit is nice but the ship seems out of proportion, especially the front…it is too long and narrow. Also, the vents on the side do not look right. Oh well, I guess I will wait for a better kit that is more faithful to the anime.
