It's always great to see comprehensive comparison videos like this. I used to use one of the little black unbranded HDMI converters which worked fine but recently wanted to try an upscaler so bought a GBS-C, not sure if I'm happy with the results yet but it will need some tweaking to get right. It looks like you got a fantastic image at the end, very jealous haha :)

as a fellow aficionado of GB, you ought to look into the Rad-2x, it is the gold standard pnp analog-digital signal conversion for your console.

Thanks for the heads up, i had a quick look there not really budget friendly, do you know if they can support both 480i RGB and 480p ypbpr mode ?

Had a nightmare with the seller, same as many others if you look at his reviews online. The unit itself is magic but wouldn’t deal with the seller again.

Watched your orginial video about the Levelhike cable, bought it and havent looked back since its really best solution if you dont want to shell out a small fortune for retrotink type stuff. Like you say in the vid just a shame you cant get the progressive scan is not compatible with the LevelHike, but if your in the PAL region like us the games supported is quite small so its not huge issue tbf

Do I need to have the PS2 set to RGB or the other mode before plugging in the adapter? I saw that was mentioned on an Amazon Ps2 to HDMI adapter. If I buy a Ps2 I can’t ensure it’s on the right mode, thats why I’m asking

I used to play PS2 with component on my flat screen TV. But the TV died recently and it's impossible to get a proper TV from a good/more recognisable brand which has analogue inputs anymore. So I need a converter/upscaler to HDMI. I'm not too interested in "modding" and improving the resolution and aspect ratio etc. And playing in 4:3 with original resolution is fine by me. I just want the closest to the original experience without loosing too much of the colour and contrast/brightness etc of the original output in the process. I know that using a CRT would be the best option. But dragging a CRT into the house is out of the question atm. Do you recommend something like RetroTINK or would a simpler HDMI converter suffice?

At the end you have the mClassic plugged into the Bitfunk that upscales to 480p and then to 1440p. Did you test the mClassic with the LevelHike that's already upscale to 720p? I already bought the LevelHike before seeing this video and want to make sure that it works well with the mClassic. Thank you!

I play PS2 with a component cable but I have this black adapter from bitfunx and I think it's excellent too, the only problem with this ps2 to hdmi is that most games the image is too dark.

I want to play ps1 games on the ps2 and i heard these don't work for the ps1 side do you have a plug'n'play option for ps1 games via ps2 console that's not too expensive or too advanced? i really don't want to shell out 80+ bucks just to use ps2 to run ps1 games on a hdmi only tv

Awesome video 👍. Mayflash adapter also works great for 480p. I would like to try the new electron shepherd adapter. I assume it would be best since ive tried many adapters trying to get gsm to output in 1080p but the adapters are not compatible. Guessing its a bandwidth problem. I also had a problem getting the mclassic to output 1440p on my 65 vizio 4k tv. Solved it by using a $12 1440p edm adapter from Amazon.

Great video. I have recently received the ElectronPulse and wii2hdmi both from Sheppard. Wii is spot on but having issues with the pulse. massive amounts of noise and fuzzy immage. On a 2023 LG OLED. But seems to work great on my more crappy TVs. Tride 2 different PS2s. Running it directly and threw a Denon av amp with no change. Just wandering if anyone has had anything similar on the Lg OLEDs. Don't have any issues with the ossc and even the knockoff retrotink looks clean but that really doesn't like progressive signal. wanted to simplify setup

@rightspritegaming Somehow it is Plug and Play with some minimal Settings 🤣 but for me it would be Important to see this Solution against the smaller budget Solutions. Because it is sometimes easier to go back Into Retro Gaming if you get a good Picture than when you use a cheap Solution you dont have fun with.
