not putting 40K down or anything. but from what i've seen of both games, a tank kill feels like it has more impact in bolt action than 40K

That was a lot of fun to watch. The night fighting rules added a lot to the scenario and made it very edgy. I could tell how nerve wracking it was to wonder if the sun was coming up and whether that was a *good* thing! That added a lot of tension to the game. I also loved that it wasn't a "balanced" game too! The Germans were badly outnumbered at Seelow Heights and it was a hard fought action with both sides giving it their all and taking horrible losses. I think this scenario did a good job of reflecting some of that while making for an interesting game.

I like the important fight for the acht acht. Those dice roles write the stories we want to see! The whole game was very balanced, so I think the points change was a good choice. Thank you for an exciting batrep.😊

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this on a very wet new year's day. Really motivates me to finally get my Soviet army finished for play. Would love you guys to do an early Barbarossa scenario and throw in some funky soviet units such as people's militia, NKVD & Naval & of course a T28/T35 land battleship!

What a great battle, it would have been interesting seeing if 2500 points of Soviets would be a sweet spot rather than a binary 2k or 3k choice. Always nice to see more bolt action.

Question. I made a couple of comments on one of your posts about a good basic British starter army, which I think were reasonable asks. However, the question I have, is having a decent knowledge of WW2 history a disadvantage for Bolt Action? I mean, I noted in your Brit force you included an A/T rifle in the same force as a Cromwell. They come from different periods in the war and were never used in conjunction with each other. Is that even important in the scheme of the game? Like could you field a Mk IV long barrel 75 mm in Blitzkrieg?

Needed the Panzer Zestorer truppen as they are a 7 man squad that you can arm with up to 3 Panzerschreks or Panzerfaust or any combination up to the 6 men in the squad. minus the NCO which only has a SMG and AT grenades. The unit is on page 110 of this campaign book. They bring a lot of firepower and unlike the Panzerschrek team can sort of protect themselves from other infantry with their SMG's.

They look like a fun and thematic choice, but they are SO expensive! Also, sucks how you can't split fire with the PzShrecks, even if you just take one embedded in the unit :/

Are the warlord vehicles 1/56th scale where 1/48th would be closer what they should be ?

The scale can look a bit off close up as while the tanks are 1/56 true scale, roughly equivalent to 28mm, infantry are 28mm heroic scale which warps is a bit.
