I love this, it was so much fun! I loved seeing your approach in sorting, starting, etc. Those mountains destroyed me as well in the end LOL, they were so confusing. Again, your video was fantastic and I love all the interesting tips you give. You gave me some great ideas on how to go about completing certain areas that are challenging. Thank again Ric, and I'm in if you want to do this again 😁😁

Hi Mandy! It’s an honour for me to get your feedback, thank you so much 🧩👍🏻 oh absolutely i would love to do other puzzles and of course work out the challenge’s challenges. This could become the beginnings of a very successful challenge! I need to watch everyone’s vids, sadly my wifi here in the smaller towns of south america is less than ideal. I might need to wait to get home to fully appreciate the others videos

Haha... prior to watching the championship competitions, I was probably the slowest puzzler. The goal was to fit at least one piece a day and never even thought about sorting. It was an awesome feeling to be able to spot the magic piece from the pile. However, I am intrigued with speed puzzling as it is a new world to me.

hi Altogether! thanks for the comment! hehe nice to hear you are having fun with puzzles, either slow or fast! my major problem with the speed-puzzling mindset is that participants more often than not tend to look down on other puzzlers and tend to act like they have higher IQs or that speed-puzzling is the only way to solve puzzles (seen this through many KZbin channels out there) - I met so many people who truly love puzzles but feel like a failure due to the speed-puzzling peer pressure - thats not cool, so I stay clear of it. Puzzles can also be a relaxing activity. :-) but hey go in on speed puzzling with a bit of caution and have as much fun as you can! cheers buddy! thx again for the comment.

@RicPuzzles Oh no! Puzzling is meant to be fun and to be completed at each individual pace. I am definitely sorry to hear that people are being or felt insulted. 😔 The good news is I am pretty sure people will beat my time, I froze seconds before I started the timer. 🤪 I had fun and definitely a good laugh at my attempt. Hopefully, everyone will continue to have fun and a good laugh as they continues to do the puzzles.

This is the KZbin content I didn’t know I needed!😄 Love Charles Wysocki designs - his puzzle of the Charles River in Boston was one of my first puzzles as an adult and I credit that great puzzling experience with launching my whole obsession with jigsaw puzzles. His Americana series is so perfect for relaxed, slow puzzling. I’m so envious of - I mean inspired by - your sorting tray system! Wonderful video, thank you for putting in the time.

Hello there! WOW that is such a nice and positive feedback, i really love hearing about how other puzzlers got hooked into puzzles, i can totally relate, Charles has some of the nicest most inspiring puzzles on earth, i just googled the Boston one, no surprises is beautiful! another one has been featured on the channel by the way, a 300 pieces, feel free to check it out, So incredibly beautiful! kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6HIqGOhh7Sbgbssi=tHDQyPD-HMS4mprq Ahh the trays 😅 yeah i don’t think ill ever have any interest in rushing through puzzles, organising and taking my time is my gig 😂 thank you for enjoying the video!

Hi Ric, i puzzle very slowly, takes me days to finish 1,000 pc. And I’m fine with that. Puzzling should be fun and relaxing and when it stops being that, I usually don’t finish it. This particular puzzle I picked up at a thrift shop about six months ago for $2. Great price, too bad there were 10 pieces missing!😂. I do a lot of puzzle thrifting and rarely have pieces missing. I agree, the mountains were challenging in this one.

Nothing like doing the opposite of speed puzzling is there! Good for you. I'm more of a snail 🐌when it comes to doing puzzles. I haven't forgotten the Lego Minifigure Faces one that I did a couple of years ago. I would not have chosen to do it but my daughter and her hubby gave it to me as a Christmas present, so I felt obliged to do it. Took me seven days on and off to do it. The different faces wasn't too bad, it was doing all the ones that were very similar and then the darker lines in between the faces. I normally take two to three days to do a 1000 piece puzzle depending on image and when I started it. Look forward to your next video.

Hi Puzzle Piece! Very nice to hear from you! Im the same as tou i take about 3-7 days normally to do a 1000, one bit each day. And it’s fun isnt it. No pressure, just joy (or stress in the case of a lego faces😂) thank you so much for taking your time to watch this vid!

Hello Ruby! That is such great news, wysocki has so many great puzzles to choose from, glad to hear you are doing one too! Very nice puzzle Ric! I really enjoy Charles Wysocki puzzles. I used to work them with my family back in the 80's. I do have this particular puzzle but have not worked it yet. I just finished a 1000 pc puzzle and it took me 10 hours 40 min. I always take my time because I want to enjoy the experience. I don't think I would like speed puzzling but I know a lot people do and that is ok, we are all different. With this hobby we have to do what we enjoy!! 🥰

Hello Marlene! Apologies for not replying before. I have been away for 2 weeks. Thats so cool you have this one too, and hey 10 hrs for a similar puzzle is impressive for my standard speed 😁 very good! Indeed i think you do what suits your lifestyle and mind set. I think it is excellent that we are bringing the 2 sides of puzzling to the stage as a lot of beginners think theres only one option. The other day a friend told me he wont even start because he is slow- that is kind of sad! So i explained to him that there are so many slow puzzlers in the world and that he was safe to join us 😅

Very nice! I like hearing your thought process as you work through a puzzle. I enjoy doing Charles Wysocki's puzzles I tried to find this one, but could only get a 500 piece. I'm a slow puzzler. It usually takes me a couple of days to do one because I don't stay with it. They just relax me while keeping my mind and hands busy. Loved the music. I know this is called Pete's Gambling Hall, but I think the main focal point is the blue church.

@@RicPuzzles It’s hard to say exactly how long it took to do the puzzle since I never time myself . I will work on my puzzle randomly , some days for quite awhile, then other days only a short time. I’d say it usually takes me 4 or 5 days to do a 1000 piece puzzle , maybe a total of 15 or 20 hours ? Just a guess. 😊

What a creative response to the current "speed" puzzling movement ! I think all those people in the Pete's Gambling Hall image are outside anticipating the arrival of the new sheriff in town. I'm not sure where the sheriff will hang out though. I don't see a sheriff's office or the town jail anywhere. 😆

HEY!!@ I have a few questions about this: 1 - What was your final time in the challenge? 2 - Was it a competition, or just for fun? 3 - How do you determine "slowness" (is it time (hince the stopwatch) or calendar)? I was tossing around the idea of 1 piece a week might help with that. 😉
@RicPuzzles
@RicPuzzles 9 ай бұрын
Hi Wayne! The timing was mentioned at the end before the observations on the final puzzle, 12 hours and a a few minutes. The challenge was more of a fun relaxed way to do puzzle without any rush or pressure it was not to compete for real, other than anything else. Indeed it was about knowing the time not days. I took 20 days to complete mine but not in one sitting. Thx for the questions it will help to improve the next videos with challenges - to be very honest the challenge itself was more like ‘can tou join is and do this puzzle on your own time?’ Rather than a competition
