In my new house, I used Claw hangers to hang all my artwork. I like the minimal impact to the Sheetrock walls, no need to find a stud, and easy removal if I ever want to move any pieces. The physics of the hanging weight keeping the thing anchored into the Sheetrock makes sense to me, whereas sticking something on a painted wall is only as good as the adhesive.

Command strips don’t hold very long from my experience. They can also still peel the paint off when taking them off. I know this from using them for Christmas decorations.

I know first hand how things like wall hangers seem to be overlooked when moving into a new place. Then, when it’s finally time to get the walls done, you don’t have what you need and certainly don’t feel like going to the hardware store! So frustrating…….. How come the 3m claws seem to come out easy, makes me concern that they are safe to hang a mirror. Is it the weight that keeps them in?

@@Revu2u Thank you that makes me feel better. When I try to see if the hooks are lining up I notice they are are off by a smidge. The mirror has D rings and I’m hanging it by myself. Can’t this self correct its self or can I move the hook up slightly without it causing a problem.

Probably not a good idea to adjust the hook in the same place once you have set it.
