Don't get me wrong I think that this video and the others like it are awesome. That being said is there anyway for your "battle mapping" that you could show the progression in stages. Otherwise it's all scattered about and looks really messy. And have you guys considered using the actual correct military symbols to represent the units?

This is honestly one of the worse breakdowns of a historical battle I've ever seen. It's too short of a video and skims over important details and does not even set the scene. It's maps showing troop movements makes no sense whatsoever. To the creator, watch some BazBattles or something and figure out what you're doing wrong please!

I'm not sure you recall Frank Miller or Snyder's interpretation correctly, because if you did you would know they do include the 7000 Athenian soldiers who accompanied the spartans to Thermopylae in exactly the way that you state is historically accurate. Just saying.

This goes to all of u guys who say greece was superior to persia militarily you have to know that persia won more wars against greece than they lost! It all started with the battle of thymbra in which CYRUS THE GREAT defeated the greek lydian empire who had a standing army of approximately 100,000 men, outnumbering the persian empire 3 to 1! the lydians led by croesus lost a crushig defeat, eventually leading to the ionian revolt in which the greeks lost a lot of battles, and later in history the athenians would also try to help egypt in their revolt against Artaxerxes king of persia by sending about 50,000 men who would get defeated and killed, ending the revolt forcing the remaining athenians to flee! Another incident was when Cyrus the younger led the march of "the ten thousand" who were greek mercenaries who were supposed to help him overthrow his brother, the king of Persia Artaxerxes II! They lost and the surviving greeks of the battle of cunaxa were forced to leave persia before getting captured! Most notably the persian army was made up out of almost 30%greeks in the wars against Alexander and about 50% at the persian wars, which weakend the persian army because of a lot of distrust toward their greek mercenaries which left the Persian army without a sense of brotherhood and unity thus taking away a lot of their moral! And finally the Parthian persians would also defeat the greek seleucids who were alexanders succesors and kick greek forces out of persia forever, initiating the revival of the great persian empire by the sassanid persians who would become romes biggest rival and the reason for the downfall of the roman republic! And for all these 300 fanboys, go and look at the Battle of the Persian Gates and then we can talk! Cheers

What Ionians? Who's Alexander? Who are Greeks? Just pieces of dust in history. It's only Persians, and Persians ruling the world.

Sepehr Voshmgir The Greeks and Alexander are NOT just ‘dust’ and both of them defeating Persia are significant points in history due to how strong Persia was. Persians does NOT ‘rule the world’ as you say. You could have just said Persia is the stronger of the two (Persia and Greece/ Greek city-states) with out making inaccurate statements.

Persia as an empire/ world power (at that time) was around longer, so clearly they were the stronger ones over all. That is why their defeat by Alexander and the Greek city-states is so significant. It is always significant when an unlikely or lesser empire/ civilization beats the stronger civilization. Also, Western Rome fell due to invasions by multiple outsiders (or ‘barbarians’ as Romans called them), NOT just Persians. Persians may have been the most powerful of these ‘barbarians’ but they were not the only ones. There is also other reasons than just invasions from ‘barbarians’ but that is beside the point.

@@billythekid21able They didn't defeat Persia overall, culturally or economically. They're significant due to propaganda.

He's British and honestly, he isn't that hard to understand, even to me, an American who doesn't hear the British accent on a daily basis. Also, frankly, they get to decide the proper pronunciation since the language developed in the British Isles.
