@Laurence Kueffer There was no genocide Laurence. Genocide is when a force tries to exterminate an entire population because of their ethnicity. The events that unfilded in 1915 prove otherwise. Archives in Turkey have been opened to all historians for inspection but Armenia doesn't open its archives for the same. If Ottomans wanted to exterminate Armenians why didn't they do that at the peak of their power, when nobody could have said anything to them but decided to do it when fighting a loosing war on many fronts, just to be more stigmatized and give the enemy a noble cause to attack more?? If Ottomans were rhat cruel to Christians why didn't they exterminate millions of them living in their lands and after 600 years of their rule you see the Chrisitans in Egypt, Bulgaria, Romania and elsewhere were untouched? Even in modern day Turkey they are still living. Armenians were once a most trusted and respected minority in the Ottoman lands and this was an official title by the way. Unfortunately they were used by western powers and Russia for their own agenda of weakening the Ottomans during 1st ww. Mostly France and Russia promised them their own nation country and supported them with weapons. While Ottoman men from Eastern provinces of modern day Turkey were on duty at war elsewhere, Armenians living in those areas, rose up and attacked Muslim villages. They killed many women and kids and elderly because men were at war. Ottoman soldiers from those areas (mostly kurds) came back and started taking revenge, killing Armenians. In order to prevent the killings Ottomans ordered an evacuation of Armenians and while that was happening unfortunately more deaths occurred, because of the continued attacks but if it wasn't for the Ottoman army now protecting the evacuated Armenians, deaths would have been much more. I hope you are a fair person and would ask you to read up on Khojaly massacre done by Armenian forces in modern day Azerbaijan where pregnant women had their wombs slit and kids were killed as admitted by Armenian. generals themselves. That was genocide! Armenians are hailing those butchers as national heroes!

A thing to note here: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had FORBIDDEN those archers to come down from the hill, unless he himself gave the order. But the archers disobeyed our Prophet, and came down thinking that the fight is over. And General Khalid (R) was actually waiting for the perfect time to strike. Once the archers came down, Khalid sprung his attack, defeating the Muslims. We would not have lost if the archers didn’t move from their position.

@@faisald8821 How was the decision idiotic if the battle was won with 300 less men no less, had it not been for the undisciplined archers abandoning their post and exposing their flank, leaving it wide open for a cavalry charge? Now granted taking the defensive approach, which is what Mohammad and many of the wise senior figures suggested, would have been the better decision here; but that doesn't automatically make giving battle an idiotic decision as the muslim army had a good position, with a rocky hill protection their left flank and a mountain protecting their right, and a narrow entrance between the two means that the Quraysh army can neither use their cavalry nor can they use their superior numbers to their full potential as the narrow battle field offers very little maneuverability.

I am a scholar in Islamic History"Assiyar & Al-Maghazy", and Arab geneology"Al-Ansab" among other things, and your depection of the battle is very good, almost perfect, and I wanna share with you the details that you left out. 1- the reason why the Prophet peace be upon him changed his mind, and moved to pitch battle, is pressure, those who did not join the fight at the battle of Badr, even when the Prophet and the Qur'an said that the battle of Badr was optinally, they felt bad, so the pressed Hard on the prophet to show him what can they do in battle. 2- Abu Sufyan was elected as the Leader of Quraysh tribes because he is the only one who fulfilled all the criterias: * Age: he was in his 60's (unlike Ikrimah, or Khalid, or Safwan, not because of their lack of experience, but the elders were always prioritized ) * Family: he was From Banu Abdu-Chams tribe one of the prominent tribes in Quraysh , his father Harb led the Kinana Army in the wars of Al-Fijar.(unlike Abu Yazid who was from Banu Amer, a lesser tribe even with his old age) * The hatered of the Prophet Muhammed, because anyone who a sympathizer with the Islamic cause was kind of excluded from the tribe, like Al Abbas 3- Hamza radya Allahu Anh died later in the battle, when the chaos ensued and everyone was screaming his name to the one on one battle in the field, Wahshi threw his Javelin after Hamza just killed a man. Wahshi Radiya Allahu Anh recites how he killed Hamza Radiya Allahu Anh:" I was following Hamza, and he was like a speading Camel between the two lines, carrying two swords, I swear by Allah nothing stands before him, destroys people such a destruction, and I was looking for a tree or a rock to hide behind waiting for the right moment, until Sabba ibn Abdul'Uzza marched to him, stating his name, Hamza cursed him before hitting him one hit, that didn't miss the head, then I saw an opening, and I threw my Javelin, it landed just under his belly button, he tried to charge me but he collapsed before" 4- Abu dujanah did not charge the enemy camp alone, more like the whole army pushed the Meccans back, after their banner carriers fell, and Abu sufyan nearly killed, the Meccan army started fleeing, Zubayr ibn Al Awwam and Abu Dujanah spoke how they pushed the Meccans back to the point that they saw the women in the camp, running and fleeing. 5-after the Prophet was hit, and Mus'ab killed, the Muslims lost Morale, but then Anass ibn Annadir Radiya Allahu Anh rallied the flleing Muslims saying :"if the prophet died, return to die on what he died fighting for" those who come back pushed through the Meccans many dying in the process but the prophet at that time called them to retreat to the mountain behind them. once the Muslims gained high Ground it became impossible for the Meccans to attack effectively, they regrouped and a stand off started, where men and women recited poetry against each other. 5- battle end. when Meccans lost hope of cutting the remaining Muslims, Abu sufyan walked near the mountain and shouted: "is Muhammad alvie?" no one replied "is Abu Bakr alive?" no one replied "is Omar alive?"no one replied "at least we go rid of them" Omar shouted:"oh no enemy of God, all those you mentioned are alive and hearing you" Abu Sufyan called Omar:"Oh Omar, is Muhammed really alive?" Omar confirmed. Abu Sufyan said:"you are more trustworthy than Ibn Qam'a"(the one who claimed to kill the prophet when he actually killed Mus'ab) Abu Sufyan then said:"let's meet next year in Badr" as if telling them that another Battle is coming. the prophet sent Ali to see what the Meccans are riding, Ali came back stating that they are riding Camels. the prophet replied:"they are going to Mecca, I swear if they are marching to Medinah to fight them to our last man" the encounter ended before sunset, and two days later the prophet gathered only the men that fought in the battle of Uhud, and persued the Meccan army, to further discourage them from turning back and attacking Medina and Thank you once more. Thanks to @pakistanzindabad9753 : for adding the detail that Ali radiya Allah anhu did nothing t run from the battle, he stayed with the prophet all fight long, to the point that at agiving moment he was the only man standing with the prophet before the rally came and broke the tide surrounding the prophet

I personally have visited the place where the battle took place. The Uhud mountain is large and majestic providing a perfect cover for one of the flanks. The small hill where the archers were placed is a very small easily climbable hill and shows the genius of Prophet Muhammad PBUH to protect the flank. There is a huge mosque now on its place showing that the ultimate and timeless victory was reserved for the Holy Prophet.

Towards the end, you may have missed a few points. The prophet(s.a.w.s) was engrossed in a heavy defensive combat and they were badly pressed and Ali(r.a.) came with a huge rescue almost single handedly. The Meccans were surprised out of their wits and backed off seeing that the field was won and no further damage could be done.

@@MM34173 Heraclius: (to translator): Tell him I asked him about his lineage and he said he is noble. It is the same with the lineage of the messengers within their people. I asked him if anyone before him had had the same pretension and he told me no. Because, if someone before him had had the same pretension, I could have believed that he only wanted to renew what someone else had already accomplished. I asked him if there were kings among his ancestors and he told me no. I said to myself: If there was a king among his ancestors, I might think that he was seeking to reclaim his father's throne. I asked him if they called him a liar before he had to introduce himself as a prophet and he told me no. Now I understood from this that if he was not the man to lie towards his fellow men, he could not, even more so, lie towards God. I asked him if it is the nobles who follow him or the common people and he answered the common people, but these are the very people who always follow the messengers. I asked him if those who follow him increase in number or regress, and he answered me that they progress, but that is the nature of faith which is to grow until it reaches completeness. I asked him if there were any among his disciples who apostatized out of aversion and he told me no, but that is indeed what faith is like, when its sweet flavor meets hearts. I asked him if he was betraying, he told me no, but this is the behavior of messengers, they never betray. I asked him if they fought each other, and he told me yes and that the fights between you had alternatives, sometimes to his advantage and sometimes to theirs. It is like this with the prophets, they undergo trials, but success and final success come to them. I asked him what he commands them and he replied that he commands them to worship God without associating anything with him, to abstain from worshiping idols, to pray, to cultivate sincerity and chastity. . Tell him if everything he told me is true, he will be master of the place where my feet are trodden. I knew that a prophet was going to appear, but I did not imagine that it would come from you. reported by Bukhari, Ibn 'Abbâs said to have been informed by Abû Sufyan ibn Harb of the dialogue which took place between him and the emperor Heraclius

Really well done to HistoryMarche. The video was really well done. There are some vital points I’d like to mention as well - Abdullah Ibn Ubai was the leader of the hypocrites in Madinah and came to the battle only to make the Muslims lose motivation. - Muhammad ﷺ had ordered the archers not leave the mount at all cost, even if they see the birds of prey eating their flesh. They disobeyed, causing Muslims to defeat. - Abu Dujanah fought ferociously against the Meccans. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) gave Abu Dujana a sword and instructed him to fight with it until he was satisfied, the sword broke, or bent. As the battle commenced, Abu Dujana charged into the enemy lines and killed a soldier from the Banu Asad clan named Abdullah ibn Humayd al-Harith. He continued his assault and confronted Hind bint Utbah, but he refrained from attacking her with the sword given by Muhammad, saying that he did not want to stain it with a woman's blood. - You can’t mention Uhud without mentioning Talha Ibn Ubaydillah. When Meccans came to kill Muhammad(ﷺ), Talha used his own body as a shield for the Prophet ﷺ . Someone shot an arrow which he caught with his hand, causing his hand to become permanently paralysed.

It was actually the Prophet Muhammad`s idea to engage in an Urban combat but many of his men pushed him to fight the meccans in an open area due to their pride thinking they would look like cowards if they didn`t meet the meccans on the battlefield. Later on close to the confrontation they changed their minds and told the Prophet Muhammad that his idea of urban combat was actually the better decision but the Prophet reprimanded them for their indecisiveness and ordered them to move out.

@Caracal a mere personal opinion of yours. There has been no hiding the fact that the prophet was fiercly defended by his guards. To cower under bodies is just a conclusion made by the channel. How can someone cower from that much larger number of opponents? He would have been killed by the stampede, especially after being hit already. Not mentioning that hiding to protect oneself was already exercised by the prophet so no shame would be in that. Furthermore, the meccans didn't retreat because they knew they killed him. There was a whole post-battle speech between the 2 armies, where the meccans were boasting avout their victory; which was the point. They wanted a win for prestige.

When Prophet Muhammed says or order something you gotta follow no matter what. If you follow him you will be victorious in this life and in the next. He orderd his archers on the small hill never ever leave your positions you guys must stay on your positions to protect our flank. The archers went on helping looting the camp and left there positions and then Meccans cavalary whit commander Ibn Walid attacked from the flanks.
