The diameter of the objective lens on a telescope is a characteristic of the transmittance, it is the same as the diameter of the aperture, but it is not the same as the filter thread size on a camera lens. The diameter of the aperture on a Nikon is 500/8 = 62.5 mm - this is a 2/3 of a stop behind. In fact, this telescope has a focal length of 480 and an aperture of f/6. So potentially the telescope is ahead because of the lower diffraction impact. But in practice these telescopes have simpler designs and just may not be as sharp as nikon lens. This is a very interesting question. It can be explored if you attach a camera with a pixel size comparable to Nikon to the telescope - for example, Pentax Q. The problem with the phone is that it looks through the eyepiece. But perhaps if you use a telephoto module, or a phone model with a large number of pixels on the main module - you will be able to find the limit of the optical resolution of the telescope.

Very helpful! People saying the P1000 wins, but the point is not by a huge margin. The cheaper scope is a solid option for people who don't want to break the bank. And, it has the benefit of never needing batteries (when used with your eye)

Very good comparison! You needed to lower the exposure a bit on the Nikon P1000 and the image would appear a bit sharper and better.

Comparing a telescope with a camera is quite adventurous, but not uninteresting. If I want to take photos, I take my P1000; if I just want to observe, I take my Celestron Ultima80. But most of the time I also want to record what I observe, so I prefer the P1000 ;-)

The base focal length is higher on the telescope. That's why it looks the same. Camera need a wide focal length as well as telephotos. On the other hand, telescope has one purpose only that is to see far way. You can see the telescope started already zoomed in.

@@rayhanahmedrahat4313 Understood. I am proposing to digitally zoom the video with video editing software to make the image the same size as the Coolpix for comparison. Most people are comparing these two images on a small phone screen so it is difficult to see the image quality difference.

Вообще для себя Sony ZV-E10 стоит брать или не стоит тратить и для дома (семейных каких-то посиделок дома или на улице под шашлычок) достаточно Canon EOS R100 с головой ? Просто в разбежке цен можно для R100 еще оптики докупить. Кто подскажет ? боюсь что R100 (условно) будет снимать также как мой пиксель или жены хонр. (формат изображения) RAW есть у обоих телефонов ! Просто что-то загорелось вместо Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro фотик взять ! Вот уже 4 день инет в поисках инфы переворачиваю

300 $ is the price for a 90/900 mm Bresser or Skywatcher achromat with tripod and mount or even 102/1000 mm Bresser achromat with steel tripod and EQ3 mount, which I guess have a clearly better image quality.

Thank you for this video, very interesting. So the 125x of Nikon is like 60x of Celestron? There is another video on KZbin that suggests the same thing, digital devices tend to show objects further than traditional optics. Nikon wins thank to digital zoom, I've got TS 110ED and the power like 125 is very sharp, I'm curious if the additional digital magnification of Nikon is good enough to match the telescopes like mine. It seems that Nikon should double its optical power by digital zoom to be eqal to 125x of telescopes. What do you think? Will you do a comparison with your telescope at 125x or something like such a power? Am l right as far as visible power is concerned?

@eljay5009 It's true but it gives some aditional détails if optical zoom is very sharp because human eyes can't see perfectly the very small details. One must have a good basic image in order to use digital zoom, if it's not the case, the digital zoom gives almost nothing.

thank you for the video. So my conclusion is that the Celstron telescope is better the Nikon camera internal telescope. So I guess the best is to get a real telescope like that Celestron and attach to it an adaptor so I can attach with a good cellphone. Can I get those adaptors to work with a DSLR camera?

니콘 P1000 오토모드에서 10m, 20m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km 실제 인물 화질이 궁금합니다. 골프장, 야구장, 축구장, 야간 공연장 등에서 인물이 어느정도 화질이 나오는지 테스트 영상이 궁금합니다. 많은 이들이 제일 궁금해 할 내용인 것 같은데요~ 영상 제목을 이라고 만들면 될 것 같은데요. 인물 대신 털, 눈섭 까지 있는 큰 곰, 사슴 인형 같은 것도 괜찮겠네요 ~ 실제 야구장 축구장 골프잘(볼 날아가서 떨어지는 것 촬영 가능한지), 공연장 실제 영상이면 더 좋겠네요. 영상에서는 거리가 얼마인지가 중요한데 거리 보다는 중을 얼마 했는지에 초점이... 참, 메모리는 최대 512 까지 인식 사용 가능한가요?

@eljay5009in my opinion the Nikon wins too. If you look at the pictures from a bigger screen ( PC or TV) you will see that the iphone one might look sharper, but it actually has less detail. Also the digital zoom of the Nikon is pretty much crop. You can do the same with the other picture with a software( i did that) and saw that P1000's image quality is way better.

Io posseggo ultima 80 e mi trovo bene ,secondo me dovevi fare il confronto con un telescopio che arriva a 125 ×. Ad esempio skywatcher 127 ,certo il diametro e più grande ma a parita di ingrandimenti non penso che la p 1000 vince ,comunque bel video ,ho un video di un vulcano sul mio canale ripreso con ultima 80 distanza 50 km

Thanks for such a useful comparison! The P1000 is undoubtedly a more versatile tool. In this "academic" test, it loses a little in detail. Even taking into account that the telescope’s light passes through two optical systems. The telescope itself + a smartphone and the image is still better. But the flexibility of settings, mobility and versatility of Nikon certainly outweigh the achievements of the telescope. Thanks for this useful video. I watched it with pleasure.

Обзор вполне информативный. Показаны вожности оптики. Сравнение трубы за 18 т новой и фотоаппарата б/у за 100 т+ . Оба устройства не компактные, если конечно ты Никоны от p900 вживую видел. Если в трубе заменить окуляр на более качественный, картинка будет сильно лучше.
