Someone commented a while back about Takeshi's twitching, I think it was because of the result of an accident he had a long time ago. He can't really help it, haha, but it gives him more character.

Yeah; he was in a motorscooter accident in 1994. According to Wikipedia: "In August 1994, Kitano was involved in a motorscooter accident and suffered injuries that caused the paralysis of one side of his body, and required extensive surgery to regain the use of his facial muscles. (The severity of his injuries was apparently due to the fact that he was not wearing a helmet.) As reported by Dan Edwards, Kitano later said that the accident was an 'unconscious suicide attempt'." And I agree; his character in Battle Royale most likely wouldn't have been half as good without this problem.

the more changes they make to the movie, the more originality the movie has. It just depends on personal preference I suppose, some people prefer they follow the book more closely, while others like the fact that they change some things around for the movie version. Although I have not read the book, but I'm happy that they had made some changes in the movie, I personally would not want it to be exactly like the book. But that's just my preference.

well I'll read the book sometime if I can find it, but I love the movie just the way it is. Maybe to the people who have read the book, the movie version wasn't as good, because they already know what happens & have high expectations for the movie. But to those who have not read the book, like me, the movie is great. Perhaps you're right, maybe they changed too much things in the movie, but I still love it just the way it is.
