Not really? If you do decide to go legendary hunting, you immediately steamroll the elite four and every other fight after Necrozma. Considering Game Freak gave a lot of trainers in US/UM set IVs, EVs, and levels balanced for their part of the game, it wouldn't make sense for them to throw it all out of the window for one fight. Really, Necrozma is just meant as a superboss, it's meant to try something new for the series. Basically, a prototype for the Volo fight in Legends Arceus.
