As a huge fan of the M249, I feel like a lot of people don't realise its main weakness is the super long ADS time it has. It takes longer to ADS than most guns take to kill you, which is why it kinda sucks at really aggressive flank pushes and CQC (or anywhere that requires suddenly needing to ADS), but if you slow push the frontline with support's instant builds this gun is literally just free kills.

My personal build leveling up was ACOG with canted red dot and I have to say, the medium scopes arent terrible on it. Its horizontal recoil makes your kills look dirty with a 4x but the volume of bullets you can spray make it more consistent than you'd think at first. Now I have everything unlocked I swapped the ACOG for the Slip scope and its so much easier to control while still having that zoom to take deeper ranges.

The m249 is an amazing gun and way too many people underestimate the support just because he isnt very fast, some of the best killstreaks and high kill games I've had were with support using the m249, getting a flank with em is a good amount slower but once you are in position you can decimate dozens of people without need to reload at all, not to mention the absurd amount of grenade spam you can do at the same time, that has won me at least a couple of frontline games; I enjoy running the long barrel on it since it reduces the bullets to kill on normal armor, which doesnt sound like the best upside but more people use normal armor than you think. And the m249 is probably one of the best guns in the game for holding a position from a vantage point. (dirty camping filth i know) But again, great video Wong!, hearing your perspective and take on the guns of this game give so much good insight, and it's very relaxing to watch after a long day :)

Grinded the M249 during playtest and used it a bunch since release. For a while I ran Flash Hider with Vert grip to trade the slightly high hori recoil and low vert recoil for slightly high vert and low hori. It worked really well since I don't have super big, consistent muzzle flash while firing. It's there, but much easier to glance over for enemies. I've since been running Long Barrel since it actually breaks the 4-hit kill on Medium Armor threshold, increasing your already great DPS on the most common armor in the game. I started doing the same with M4A1 and found incredible success as well. M249 likes the better accuracy as well, works out for the slower playstyles. M249 is very versatile, love this gun. There's like 4 viable set-ups for M249 which is great for players looking for specific playstyles.

L86A1 w/ Long Barrel is a 0.155 TTK. Tough to beat that. Granted 100 bullets is a great boon for 254 player servers.

I desperately need them to separate the 'Find Match' search function from community servers (yes even the ones with official progression). I personally just want to play regular battlebit for now as I am very bad at the game and changing a bunch of things about it makes it even harder for me to tell what's going on (diff wep stats, run speeds, armor values etc.) As it stands now if you click 'Find Match' it just pulls you into an open server with the lowest ping (including all community servers). Custom servers just came out tho so hopefully will change. Anyways another great video (p.s. pls upload more commentary these vids are great!)

M249, my beloved.. I sometimes run a Suppressor, might not be meta but it works out for me sometimes especially on maps like District when you're camping out in the trees.

Hey Mr Wong. I am also doing a run in support at the moment and I started using the SLIP (2.0x) scope for the M249 recently with the Tactical barrel and BCM grip and honestly its significantly stronger than I expected (velocity of 600 helps a lot). For the smaller maps (tensa, lenovo, frugis etc) its not that good but in any of the larger maps its extremely disgusting. Paired with medium armor and helmet the move speed isnt all that bad and can get some good flanks going. I also dont spawn in at the beginning of matches cos of the noise, delayed spawn is the pro strat. Great vid! - no light

I generally use med scopes on most guns for a while because I have trouble spotting enemies, and using one while semi-auto or short bursts is surprisingly easy, not sure about TTK but I have gotten kills I normally wouldn't have without one : D

Slip is one of the few good larger magnifiction sights in the game. 2x works better on lmgs and drm then on ars for sure.

I used a mediumrange scope with attached red dot for the longest time and sometimes switched to semiauto to tapfire over longer distances! I know people say to not do it but to compensate for horizontal recoil it worked pretty well and most people didnt even see it coming.

I like the mg36 more, just all around consistent, you move good with it, controllable, 249 is way too slow

So many of the grips and barrels are just completely pointless. Maybe they’ll balance them out more, but I kind of would prefer it if they just duplicated the stats of the useful ones to 2 or 3 each so you at least have some choice for aesthetics.

I often use the Silencer on it, because the Recoil is still good enough for use. And i often blast down a full Squad before they even notice me. Good review. Medium Range Scope works, but i only did Single-Shot. And the scarh is way better doing that.

I've been using the m125 medium scope on my m249 build ever since i unlocked it, performs super well especially with a top sight on it. I could also recommend using the 2x slip scope if u are having trouble controlling the vertical recoil

Wong, wouldn't it be sick if support could equip light vest, and empty helm lol. that plus m249 would be pretty cool. also no idea why the "normal" bags for support give slower run speed than the big bags, kinda makes no sense considering the normal bags are visually so much smaller. great video as always my dude! loving the content recently and one of the only reasons I've been on KZbin for the past little bit!

I picked up a little movement tip somewhere which I don't think I've really seen you using: whenever possible to use jump crouch instead of vaulting, to go through windows etc. so that you don't put your gun down to vault and you're ready to aim and shoot

Maybe when the devs release the hardcore game mode, they can remove bleeding from normal game play. It just hurts non-medic aggressive players more than necessary

Unlike m4 m249 has pretty high horizontal recoil and in my 500 kills with it slipped to the side before I got the kill way too many times I much preffer 3 other options support has Cant wait to run ultimax like aug with trx scope Atm the vertical recoil makes it sub optimal but I expect the patch will change that

The recoil makes the medium scopes useless. That, coupled with the HUGE damage drop off past 100m (10 damage, worse than any rifle) makes it worthless again at range. To top it all off, the bipod does nothing for sustained fire and recoil. Using an LMG in battlebit in it's intended role, to lay down suppressive fire or repel groups, is impossible. It needs massive buffs to the bipod and the damage at range.

Bi-pod just sucks to much. Also, if you are support player, abuse the building mehanic as much as possible as random maze will totaly fuck up everyone that wears light armor.

M249 sucks compared to Insurgency M249. You loaded that with HP rounds and it was one hit kill on ANYTHING and everything and had 200 rounds :D
