The Chauchat rifle, also known as the Fusil Mitrailleur Modele 1915 CSRG, was a French light machine gun used during World War I. It was designed by Colonel Louis Chauchat and Charles Sutter, and it became one of the first true light machine guns to see widespread use in combat.
