So, while it is really bad, the extremely short barrel actually alleviates this somewhat. The barrel is actually so short that the powder doesn't get a chance to fully burn before exiting the barrel, which causes the bullet to be fired slower and therefore produce less recoil. It's still going to kick like a mule, but it's not going to break your wrist.

Harrison Avera tbh the Kar98k had more recoil for me but yeah the Mosin kicks like a mule and a gun like this would be painful to shoot. Just like the .500

A Mosin Nagant really doesn't have that much recoil if you shoot standing, your body moves with it if you have it in your shoulder tight. My 12 gauge hits far harder than my Mosin ever has, I mainly shoot with a coat on though, it is a really thin one at that.

Life lesson, kids! It's better to fire your weapon two handed with a proper firing stance. *Especially* if your "pistol" is little more than a butchered rifle that fires 7.62x54mmR.

back in WWI, the "proper" pistol firing stance was one handed, arm outstretched. Guns were actually designed for this and it's a nice attention to detail.

Yeah in both World Wars soldiers were trained to fire handguns with one hand with their arm completely extended. The modern two handed stance simply was not used at this time.

Martini Henry and the obrez what a combination the martini Henry for them close to medium one hit kills and then the obrez for them Close Quarters oh to put the last few hit points on to that Target that the martini-henry didn't get all the way it's like getting hit by a train and then getting hit by a smaller train both with a hell of a punch

Love this pistol but it suffers from the same hit location problem that sniper sweet spots have. I've gotten plenty of one shots but tons of enemies will ADS in CQC which raises their arms covering their chest causing many shots within 10 meters to hit for less than 100 usually causing you to get killed before you can cycle the bolt for a follow up shot. Annoying since I don't think there's true balance since the slow and powerful weapons are not real skill cannons (they're skill + luck, just hope your opponent doesn't ADS) because spamming the 1911 is essentially the overall pistol meta because it ignores chest, head or arm shot damage differences; spam shots and win. And spamming shots or grenades can net plenty of kill but it's so easy any kid can do it. And many do. Although on a more positive note at least I can be satisfied with every obrez kill because the issues that it has means you're accurate, plus that mid to long range damage is still great.

5 max damage and a silly headshot multiplier of 5x (if I'm remembering correctly), and it shoots as fast as the high firerate pistols. But honestly, that thing is a joke and at it's minimum damage you couldn't kill someone if you landed all headshots (it was 2 minimum last time I checked).

I wonder how deadly the muzzle blast would be with the fireball... I've been trying to find an excuse for why the Obrez 1 shots at point blank, but full sized rifles don't.

The wound it leaves is worse than that of full rifles, a higher power rifle puts a clean hole in someone die to its straight and true trajectory, an obrez is short, the velocity is low, and the bullet fucks around due to the bullet is almost pointing out of the barrel, what this does is make it not as clean nor as true, moving, falling, twirling and breaking inside of someone instead of stopping in or going clean through them.

My friend has a cut down mosin nagant to the maximum legal size (18.5") he also put a pistol grip on it, basically you can't hit anything past 25 yards.

Yeah, at that length it would be still be considered a "carbine" by most people's definitions rather than a "pistol" so most people would still expect to shoulder such a weapon. P.S. I understand the legal aspect though because getting a NFA tax stamp for an SBR/SBS is a real BITCH! (Especially these days)

The obrez does no damage unless you have the kulak skin equipped. This is why every bf1 player gets the skin in their first set of battle packs.

I love this gun. It takes me back to the 44 magnum headshot that I missed so much from the other ones. 10/10 on this one, I just wish it had a better head shot multiplier. Getting 81 damage headshots with anything bolt action is a little disappointing.
