There's a lot of gadgets in Battlefield 1 that don't get enough credit.. here's my top 5 most underrated gadgets and equipment (including a grenade) which should probably be used more. They can generally make it easier to win, and can sometimes be the best gadgets (a more tactical choice) for you team.

Usually I stick with squad members and focus on reviving and healing them. I normally run with smoke grenades anyways with the medic because when I play medic I don't care so much about getting kills. Usually squad mates won't skip if you tell them not to.

AceRadical sometimes, on that Italian mountain map, I just run scout, and spam both the periscope and flare inside the forts, and make sure heavies leave the ammo cases to keep it coming. ...I lost track as to how many levels I have jumped up by just doing that. My scout class level is 25, almost 26 now...every other class is under 6. Lol!!!

Two days ago I had an Operations match on Ballroom Blitz. At first we decimated the enemy. We pushed them to last sector with one batallion, but we lost it there. Then 3/4 of the team went sniper for some reason and we lost the other 2 batallions. How fucking dense these people are is beyond me.

I got baked as fuck one day and decided to just keep running in with the spot flare. I didn't kill anyone and I let myself die just to have 2 more flares I made it to 5th on the scoreboard and my team had crazy amount of kills top 3 were 70+kills... Spotting is the key to Victory

biodtox I absolutely hate Ballroom Blitz for that exact reason. 80% of the time I do that operation, half the team is just camping with snipers, instead of capping flags, so we get stuck on the first 2 zones... It's like they don't have brains or something...

Sam Cocking Exactly! So many people use the crossbow grenade or the ammo pouch instead of it! Although, I wouldn't recommend equipping it if playing on modes which don't use vehicles, like TDM, War Pigeons, or Domination. It's more meant to be used for Conquest and Operations.

I roleplay as an Field Engineer in Support so I carry the Repair Tool all the time. The amount of destroyed thing and damaged vehicle is astounding and I fix most of them and in Suez I fix the field gun at C facing D and hold down the place.

You can still view the big map in hardcore, unless they changed it. Very few people expect it too.

They are useful in hardcore rush. Even if you don't have a minimap, the spot will count and you can blast them off to oblivion with artillery

TIp with the spotting flare: increase the size of your mini map and change the zoom so that you can see more players when you fire the spotting flare. Sometimes I can see the position of 50% of the enemy team when firing a spotting flare.

IMO the mini medkits are underrated since I'm always on the move with the Medic, and it allows me to toss one across like 10 meters away so my team mates can heal on the go! The support is a different story, I play defensively and use the ammo box since it makes sense to provide ammo to others that are with me.

they are pretty much useless because they are instantly consumed when healing starts, and taking damage interrupts healing? stray bullet? bandage was useless, wait for the self-heal. at grenade, even 10 or 15 metres away? bandage was useless, wait for the self-heal. you're mortared? you get it by now

@@warmike its far from useless. It's an aggressive medics best friend, one who likes being in the action. Unlike crate and self heal, pouch heals while you're being surpressed and makes healing in gun fights way safer for you and your patient. Mixed with the perk that heals you when you heal an ally? It's phenomenal. Most people won't repeek while that low, and if you're being flanked it doesn't really matter either way

I can top the match as a scout, because of the flares. I may only get 17-20 kills a round but I can get up there on the scoreboard just because I'm using flares, and sitting on flags but I have to know when it's time to pull away from a flag and give a respawn for my squad to get back on the objective.

Lol at all the people on here saying the spotting flare ISNT under used, it is!! Just because you use it, doesn't mean the other 35 scout players on the server are using it too. I was playing bf1 before, literally shouting at the screen, "why the hell isn't anyone firing flares at the objective" (there was a row of snipers lined up just behind me doing nothing.) and guess what happened,the enemies took the objective which led to them winning the match, if those scouts fired flares, things might have been different

I play scout in BF1 like scout in TF2. Moving around quickly and excessively using the spot flare. This is most effective with the gewher m95 carbine and the m1911. Believe me this is the quickest way to level up scout the quickest.

Great video thank you! I use smoke all the time in operations with my support. And if it's not smoke it's anti tank grenade and limpet combo. On that forest map I go recon, run straight to c with smoke grenades and the flash flare gun, not the spot. Get c by myself nearly all the time

Another thing that makes the limpet even better, it does not have an explosion marker (like grenades or tnt) meaning that in chaotic fights it often goes unnoticed making for easy kills through chokepoints

I always use the trench periscope now. Many really don't use as I would of imagined but sure has made a distance all around. Running just outside the objective and plucking off the enemy's who have the vantage point on the flag. Medics get plucked first though, that's just me lol

Jacques Cilliers if everyone starts the map as assault with AT mines and would put them down that's up to about 90 mines on the map, then once you die you can play whatever class you want but right off the bat everyone should put mines down, also if there is a small divet or crater you want to put the mine right on the inside lip facing the direction you expect tanks to come from, as long as there's a slight hill to put them behind or inside the crater below the surface. put 2 down on the same spot. The third you can either hide in another crater behind the original or in plain sight encouraging the tank to swerve around it and into the 2 hiding in the crater. Place mines like this and they will never even have an opportunity to see the mines. It's my tried and true mine placing method. On amien there are many areas with rubble and brick clusters you can hide them within as well.

Impact grenade is very essential and popular thing, especially for a sniper. There must be a mini grenade in this video... And Limpet is the best gadget of support class! There is no better alternative. Ammo+limpet is the best combination. A lot of players using it, as me and especially Squid & Weazy))

On my scout class I always use the trench periscope and spotting flare. It makes you an excellent asset or supporting your team, allowing you to counter-snipe and spot enemies easily. The periscope allows you to do this from range while the spotting flare does this better up-close and in a pinch

The periscope is so wonderfully powerful. There are games where we are getting stomped and I'll just sit down and periscope the whole rest of the game and we will clutch out a win. Being able to mark dozens of soldiers a min as well as outline them is crazy. All those lazy snipers on the team suddenly become snipegods

Yes! The repair tool is so very under used and is so handy to have and can make the difference of winning the match when repairing Anti-air turrets, fortress guns, the French Mega Tank behomoth, or even your friendly heavy tank or landship (let alone repairing a plane all whilist in one of the plane's seats, but that one is kind of iffy). And they even buffed that gadget up by being able to destroy enemy vehicles by hitting them with the repair tool, hammering away their vehicle's health durability until the vehicle combust into a confetti of flame and metal particles all in a matter of seconds. Sounds very useful, doesn't it? I in fact have been using the repair tool more often than the mortors. But I will agree that the limpet charges have a variety of uses for that explosive demolition expert at heart as the support class, (even though you have a maxium limit of one at a time, it's power of enviromental and high in damage rating destruction is one to be admired).

I'm usually always rocking the "M1903 Sniper" with Trench Periscope and Sniper Shield now. Used to role with spot flares, but now with hours upon hours of sniping experience/bullet drop feel/all that jazz, I'm pretty damn far away to be able to properly utilize the flare. I utilize the sniper shield solely as a means of support for my bipod when just crouched. So if you find yourself a good nook with a good prone position facing the brunt of the enemy objectives, the sniper shield will give an additional defense on whichever exposed flank you may have/then also like I said a means to move a lot easier and shoot just as effectively with the bipod support from crouch. The periscope makes you almost unkillable and will literally always give you a massive jump on other snipers, just spot them from safety, pop up, drop them, then retreat & repeat. M1903 has very little bullet drop making head shots easy to gauge from very far away. Even if enemy snipers do finally catch up with you, it's an easy duel vs the other rifles with much greater bullet drops.

The trench periscope tells you how many meters it is where you’re pointing the cross reticle. You can use this to set the meters on your sniper with it so you can be accurate and headshot an enemy sniper who’s destroying your team and camping near spawn.

I always use the Trench Periscope. The main reason is because I use a x4 scope to avoid scope glare, so sometimes i need a bit more zoom scoping out other snipers in cover. It helps my team as well, so.... win-win. :)

I believe the incendiary grenade with it's similarly short fuse time to be a straight upgrade from the impact, since it can do a lot of the same things and doubles as a choke point blocker.

Zander823 I do the same thing with gas. Choke them at a choke point. By the time masks go on, 20-40 percent of their health is gone. Plus gas goes through walls and rooftops.

I think for me, the best use of the smoke grenade is a meme loadout I call shovel knight it’s an Assault class, no gadgets, The juggernaut and the flak specialization, obviously the shovel, the gas mask and of course the smoke grenade. You hide in the smoke, wait for somebody to walk by and you get the takedown then you run back to real cover. And now you have acquired the art of the shovel knight.
