One thing they didn't really pick up, becuase this Video is obsessed with Distructable terrain, sounds & graphics. But in BF1 in the bomber a gunner can shoot through his own aircraft without causing damage. In BF1942, can actully destroy your own aircraft by shooting out the tail. May be a minor thing, but shows the forward thinking of the creators with the technology they had in 2002.

It was fine in 1942. It would be fine in BF1. Also it is possible to stop a gun from rotating far enough to shoot the wing. Which i defiantly believe the real one would have been, hence hitting yr own wing could kill yr own plane.

Bf1942 was my childhood and ill never forget that while I used to play 24/7 operation market garden and bomb the Germans with the b17 in 2002. One of my favourite battlefields.

Plus this patch to fix the master server: team-simple.org/. I didn't use any compatibility mode settings, but I still get the blackscreen freeze every so often. Instead of using the in-game server browser I usually use GameTracker and have desktop shortcuts set up for the major servers.

*BF1942 is a 2002 game but it has still advantages to BF1(2016 game)* 2:18 That machine gun firing effects and bullets are really better looks in BF1942 4:40 AA firing sound is really better in BF1942. BF1 uses pistol firing sound as a AA firing sound 8:00 Grenade blast effect is better looks in BF1942. BF1 doesn't have also 8:13 and that tank shooting effect looks better in BF1942. *BONUS* 8:45 if a noob uses a plane. _My opinion; BF1942 is a godfather and a legend so please don't compare any game with it_

Never got to play 1942 because I was like 7 years old and I don't think even had a game console yet. Regardless I'll say this game stood the test of time and looks amazing 15 years later. I love the small details that are included like walking through the barb wire causes you damage. It's like thinking about what would happen if I used a flame thrower on this tree? I'd expect it to be burned up, but no usually games ignore that and focus on other stuff. Tiny detail like that where it's hard to make a joke about something so small and insignificant makes it legendary in my opinion. This looks like it was the funniest thing ever in it's day.

I'd rather play BF1942. To me BF 1 is more like COD with its reliance on prototype wepons in an Era of mostly bolt action rifles. In my opinion, Verdun is a more immersive WW1 game. Graphics aside 1942 has the best game play, maps and vehicles. I mean you can control a Carrier, Battleship or Flying Fortress. And in their expansions, secret weapons of WW2. the shit you can use is insane. The fact that this was done in 2002 is amazing.

I love this game. You can just drop a landmine in front of an unoccupied vehicles in enemy's base, and wait the unsuspected enemy step in the vehicles and watch them blow into pieces. Never been able to properly use the self-propelled artillery though, since nobody back at the time know how the spotter function works with sniper class

LuckRecall101 XD Not clearly I mean from graphics aside you can do more with Battlefield 1942 and it is fun that way and it ain't the Gameplay over graphics bullshit just that you should focus on Gameplay a bit more and than graphics later since most game publishers do that and then the game is either too easy it becomes boring or it is visually appealing but then that is it, I have gotten bored of Battlefield 1 within an hour which ain't good since playing team death match over and over and over ain't fun and capturing points over and over and over again still apply since it doesn't have that WW1 feel I mean your supposed to fucking guard a trench while trying to capture you enemies trench and you be either in the front lines taking pot ahots or trying to go for it while artillery is blasting no man's land with tanks charging forward being shot at by machine guns and having grenades thrown at it and capturing points may have the same feel but it ain't as awarding or hard to do
