Back when something so simplistic was mastered by the devs who loved what they did and cared so much about their work and achievements. Less=more and this was a perfectly executed example of a game made with love and passion. Just listening to the gear shuffle and boots stomping on the floor gives me goosebumps as theres no sound queues in any other fps that made you feel you were actually there and made you immersed and invested .

These older games in 4K look extremely well man. Better than today's games with all the jagged edges, and of course better performance too. Battlefield 4 on max looks even better than SQUAD and has thrice the FPS on my rig.

It's the map design. Maps in today's shooters are too clean imo, everything looks like inside of a hospital. Maybe textures were worse quality back in a day, but at least there was debris lying everywhere (papers, litter etc.) Those little accents made bf3 so realistic for me.

Gun balance was so good in this game any class could be effective. Also sound design was top notch and the destruction you could do to a map was amazing!

BF3 feels pure. The animations are so snappy yet smooth. The game has no unnecessary shenanigans. Just pure fun and enjoyable gameplay. Definitely my favorite Battlefield.

BF4 is probably the best one in the series at the moment. It's pretty much an improved BF3. Not old enough to feel old, slow or low quality and not new enough to include too much bs. Launch was rough but the post-cycle support and updates perfected it.
