Yes i understand but i am showcasing the recon class capabilities and how usefull he can be in a team based perspective. Why would i use a beacon when my teamates are pushing in and i'm holding a very strong position. Keep in mind that this is a 3min video, and a 32 vs 32 metro rush (100 Tickets). In this situation as a medic i would have pushed in and died, because our team was slacking at the spawn. People forget that this is a FPS so killing people will grant you the access to the objective

What I think is a good Recon play, Motion Sensor enemies around to prevent flanking Provide strategic placement of Beacon spawning (Being able to decide spawning to myself or beacon, which is the better choice during different situation) If you are a bad shooter, scope down far distance to SPOT enemies so that team can flank. Most importantly, provide excellence sniper cover. That's pretty much what he did here. Allowing his team to attack full force down left side. Hoorah!
@Shihuru12 жыл бұрын
I actually play my recon exactly like this. Right in the action. The recon's ability to spot enemies passively or actively is so damn useful in those crucial situations.

@ThisAKWorks12 жыл бұрын
In that situation having 3 medics and a recon was a good idea. They were low on tickets and having 3 medics to revive each other really helps, him being a recon was a huge help because he was mowing down guys making opportunities for his team to push up.

@AudionAme12 жыл бұрын
the efective range on bolt snipers for one shot one kill in the chest area is around 20 meters or less, if you aim for the neck or the head, is one shot one kill, but you have to remember you are not the only 1 who is shooting the enemy, so he is just finishing of wounded guys, besides the ton of hs you can pull with the m4 at close mid range, siene bazar and metro with 8X and 3.4x with a silencer
@ColSonders12 жыл бұрын
I've always said the Recon class can be very strong when played right...This is the best example i've seen. Recon at the edge of the map? Nope, in the thick of it, with amazing sniping skills, top notch awareness and perfect communication. Amazing, hope I never have to be on the receiving end!

@J1NX3I212 жыл бұрын
I love this guy, honestly. He's a really good player.
@MrXtetsoux12 жыл бұрын
It's not always about making the shots, suppression is a powerful tool. Spawn beacons can be trapped, tugs can give away your position. With a good team watching every corner whats the point of motion sensors? Also, the rifle is high powered but its also the weakest bolt action in the game (M40A5) with priority to high fire rate (which he was using). This video perfectly shows how powerful the recon kit can be, and this is exactly how everybody should use it instead of camping with a 12x.

Locklear - While I do admire your sniping skills, I am in agreement with Tomobromo on this one. Those were some exceptional shots you were taking, and good teamwork kept you alive - there by keeping your streak going. I have done and will continue to do what you have done with a bipod and LMG in that very same spot. Show us that teamwork and how you helped the 'team' and I'll be slightly more impressed. But again, those were some beautiful shots you were taking down the range.
@NuclearHeadshot12 жыл бұрын
The sniper rifle used in video is the M40A5, to clear things up. The M40A5 is my new favorite sniper, not because of the stats but because of it's character. The M98B is pure power, but it feels too "heavy". You can't really be that aggressive as with the M40A5, it feels lighter and more swift. Plus the rate of fire is noticeably higher and the magasine is bigger, makes it easier in a tight spot.
@L0ckl34r12 жыл бұрын
You got it all wrong sir. "Quick scoping" takes a lot of skills and is hard to master. If you aim right you don't miss. And no i don't speed up the video lol.

i agree with most of the stuff u mention here. the difference about laying in corners and camping is a bit different. u can lay in a corner in cod and shut down a part of the map. but in battlefield when u lay on a corner, because of the big map and more ways to get somewhere, its not that big of a nuisance. thats not the case on Metro offcourse since its a small map to. :)

I cant believe the negative comments on this video. I was gob smacked at the speed and accuracy of the sniping. To suggest that a 12x scope is easier than no scope on a close quarter engagement is laughable. When I play recon I tend to semi auto sniper with red dot and use like an M1 Garand due to me sucking. Sir I salute you.

The damage caused by the sniper rifle allows him to do more damage in less time with that quick aim. This allows him to minimize his exposure to enemy fire. It also distracts the enemy from their objective when they're pissed off at the ONE sniper guy doing so much damage to their team. Didn't you see them getting pissed off and coming down the one side after him? Do you think they were thinking about the objective at that point? Think outside your little box.

1 shot offered great supression and if he hit the guy he had a chance of killing him or at least injuring him. The laser helped him to blind people at a decent range where his team could kill the guy with ease or he could kill the guy himself.
@PlebNC12 жыл бұрын
The important thing to note is how Recon is good "in a squad". In other words, camping on a hill doing effectively nothing but random pot-shots isn't a good tactic. I quite like to swap bolt action rifles for a semi-auto rifle with low magnification scope. This reduces my range but makes it easier to work closely with my squad. Because I'm closer, my squad will also benefit more from my deployables.
@hajs5511 жыл бұрын
your little trick with the laser turning off for medium to long range targets makes some sense, scope glint isn't as noticeable as a screen half filled with a bright red circle lol. But for the one guy on the escalator though, it was unnecessary, if you missed and he saw you, by the time you took a follow up shot or switched to your pistol and headshot him he wouldn't've even have fired at you yet.

he killed everything he looked at bro, he never spotted with the game, but spoke into his mouth peice. now i like that he is communicating, but mind i ask why is he using a sniper rifle in the most cramped map in BF3? he also had a laser sight, no need to scope in at that range (when they were close enough to see if their could blink or not)
@Baxtab1312 жыл бұрын
That's the point. People on offense don't want "snipers", we want recons. People who have high powered rifles with the ability to provide reconnaissance and aggressively push forward with the rest of the front.

Good choices. I run the A-91 (with kobra, foregrip, laser sight) and 44 Magnum.
@GeneralBlackNorway12 жыл бұрын
I doubt you can pick off enemies like that. Ofc it has a lot to do with skill, but if you went with a LMG and bipod you would be shot up before you could do to much and you would only suppress most of those you shoot at. Though at the spot he was at in the end an LMG could do good, though attracting attention would get you killed fast. He did some very important kills in taking out some digged in people. What kept him alive was his short exposure when he was popping out and firing.

Battlefield has moments like CoD. But what makes the difference is that BF3 has much moment types than that (And even much much more with premium). And more important: He plays like it for the need of his team, not for a stylish trickshot exhibition with a Post-Hardcore band playing in the background as he shoots. And most important: Teamwork is present.

This shows the cheap part & trolling of the Recon class. It's made for medium - long range engagement, scouting, countersniping, providing info that your squad leader/etc. can't, and taking out targets teammates can't on larger maps. Unless you play the kit as designed, I don't consider it useful.
@srrtbb12 жыл бұрын

You can give info on enemies without being a Recon. You can spot enemies without being a Recon. And, you can weaken enemies without being a Recon. You can do anything with any class. And, I am not trying to be a jerk here. But, you should try using a period sometime.
