@@agentmartingaming I think your 4790K has some issues man, it might be overheating. Stock speeds should turbo up to 4.4GHz, not 4.1GHz.

it's too taxing on the processor....the architecture is old and all the cores easily get loaded with high % usage similar to how it is when you attempt to browse the web on a 10+ year old PC...the cores get over taxed at 100% usage and it bogs everything down

i see you have 1600mhz ram, these chips love fast ram, i run a 3200mhz 16gb kit in mine, there is a difference in gaming performance when measuring avg max/min fps

You are wrong. this is an old intel processor which supports ddr3 ram with up to 1600 mhz. What you are talking about are ryzen processors which do this

@@ostern03kappa29 It might be an old CPU but on a z97 chipset board you can use DDR3 3200mhz RAM, my Asus Hero VII supports it. I didn't notice he was running the lower end spec B85 chipset which limits him to 1600mhz. Most people building PC's around 4790K CPU's were not pairing them up with B85 chipsets at the time lol.

@@MMK86 With a substantial OC it can handle faster ram since the memory controller takes advantage of the frequency boost as well. But that's in rare cases.
