We need maps with love and soul in them again. Every previous BF's map I remember individual rocks and terrain features, even just the textures because they're so mind blowingly good, and the rocks because you get real intimate with them in many areas where they become your home for awhile when they save your life and so you start to remember them all when you're under fire from multiple positions and need cover. 2042 maps look like terrible mod maps in comparison and the lack of cover, detail, and terrain randomness just makes them absolutely forgettable. When I go back and play any of the older BFs you can still catch me staring down at the ground just appreciating all the little details and randomness they put all over the place. That's what makes me like maps, that's what makes maps feel like real places, or at least extremely immersive. Even if the game play of the map might not be favorable, I still want to revisit them all the time to feel what I am missing in 2042.

Ravic, it seems like they've updated the SRAW (?) rocket in 2042...Not sure how much you play it. But I just recently re-watched your first AT4 montage video on BC2. It's more than good. I remember back in the day, thats how I found your channel - I was looking for footage on youtube (which was very rare) of people who showcase how to use the AT4. Was just thinking - would be fun to have one more of those vids, in your style, just a pure montage of SRAW kills, for old times sake. (:)

As far as I know they haven't fixed the main issues with the BF2042 SRAW which is that it's too slow and not agile enough to be useful against the aircraft and vehicles in BF2042. It's the reverse problem of BC2 where they kept buffing the AT4 when they need to buff the aircraft. They either need to boost the speed and turn speed of the SRAW or slow down aircraft and vehicles so they aren't able to go so fast that the engine can't keep up. Still better off with the Recoilless or RPG.

I'm surprised the constant nerfing hasn't turned the field artillery pieces into 2 or 3 hit kills for more than just vehicles. Even then, a 6 pound shell going through a real WWII vehicle would have been a through and through shot.

Really? To me it felt like the game still heavily favored the planes because they could attack and destroy the stationary emplacements outside of their effective range. That and emplacements had an unnecessary additional level of complexity since they don't auto-generate and have to be built and rebuilt by players playing as a specific class.

I can't believe you'd say the range is too great after watching how predictable and close these people fly, seemingly with zero fricks about the known AA locations are. I haven't seen this one air clan in a long time (something like Angle of Attack or w/e), and if I ever saw them I'd just leave the server. Because they all knew how to stay above any AA range and would just kill you straight down with zero chance of lethally hitting them with anything (specially in your own spawn as soon as you pulled an AA tank. They would spawn kill all the armor and hard camp over and over untouched). No one in the server ever knew how to kill those guys so it was always a one sided farm fest. Anyway my point is that whenever I pop on now days I never see anyone play that annoyingly competent in a plane again, but the game was definitely in favor of those .0001% pilots that knew how to remain untouchable all game every game. Of course most of the games now look just like this, with most pilots seeming to be still in training and ignorantly coming within your range. You just need to know the AA locations and stay away from them and then flank them when possible. If you're getting nailed by AA at really long range it just straight up means your flying is too predictable.
