Wow...Solaris least useful? I love to run 2 of them. I pair each one with a 3 or 4 strong squadron of Hemlocks. The Solaris has the same speed profile as the Hemlock. Solaris activates first to knock down shields followed by the Hemlock lances! I usually don't bother with Hellebores or Aconites, they're just too expensive for such fragile ships. I would agree with everything else you said. I've enjoyed all of your content so far. Keep it going!

Thank you, yeah I've always found a use for them but I think if your opponent knows them they can get easy VP against them due to low HP. But no ship in the game is bad, that's the beauty of BFG. 😊 I like your use of two, I'll have to give that another go

You've just made me realise the hellebore and aconite are slower than the light cruisers!

The most competitive fleets I've seen contained majority Nightshades. If I were making a starter fleet, I'd have at least 3 squadrons of 5. Nightshades sidestep the downside of combining torpedoes as they have a 2nd move. They have better leadership for rerolls than most fleets. Torpedoes having stealth means you can forgo combining a salvo and still be effective. Rerolls to hit are more pronounced against 6+ armour. A third should get through. As a personal preference (not really competetive) I'd add an aconite and hellebore to each nightshade squadron, it gives them useable firepower if the torps are ineffective). It must be noted that the hellebore and aconite are slightly slower than the nightshade in slower sunward arcs.

@Raygun9000 if you are playing really competitive, then a whole fleet of just escorts is best for eldar. But I am not really interested in providing "competitive lists" for bfg as I based on everything I've ever heard it wasn't made to be like that as a game. It's easy to break. These videos are aimed at provided some fun, all round starter fleets for people to enjoy. The mixing of escorts is a cool idea. I do it all the time with Imperials, not really tried it with Eldar. But an aconite to knock shields and then follow up with pulsar would be fun

@turbidious mixing in the big escorts gives you 10wb and pulsar. (Equivalent to 2 aconites and a hemlock) Being competitive is a strange beast for Eldar. It's more of an extreme than any other fleet. Special torps on Auroras being a brutal go to (especially in campaigns).

@Raygun9000 yeah agreed. They lend themselves to the min/max
