I think EA really does suck. They really do. This game was having some of its greatest content drops and then the Celebration Edition sold ridiculously well, and then they cancel the game. The problem is that they're trying to have an even number of characters in the Prequels, Originals, and Sequels. But there's nothing good in the Sequels, so they have stupid stuff like the Nazi version of BB8. Meanwhile; Ahsoka, Durge, Mace, Ventress, and tonnes of Legends stuff is gone. If they cared about what the fans wanted, they should have just ognored the Sequels and put in Legends eras; the Old Republic and New Republic. Old Republic with Satele Shan, Jedi Revan, HK-47, and Meetra Surik for the Light and Darth Malgus, Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, and Vitiate for the Dark Side. New Republic could add Jedi Leia Solo and Mara Jade for Light Side, plus a Grandmaster Luke skin, and for the Dark Side they could have Darth Krayt, Darth Talon, and Darth Caedus. Also have some Vong warriors as Enforcers for the Dark Side. People would want that, but Disney wouldn't ever allow it. They have to keep pushing the Sequel trash down your throat, but using the good movies as Trojan Horses to get it there.

Now I don't know if you know this, but plo koon has a rare Force ability called electric judgment which is basically the light side version of Force lightning, I think plo koon would be a very good addition to Star wars battlefront 2 and if they introduced plo koon, they would introduce the first ever light side character that uses a lightning ability.

The thing is, for every hero you add, you need to add a villain to balance them. Ahsoka and Ventress are quite similar, so adding them together would make a lot of sense. But who could you add with Windu? Maybe Savage? What about who to add with Qui-Gon? Pre Viszla?

I've been working on a potential "Battlefront 3" or even just "What BF2 could've been" with just this in mind. Obviously all the characters in the game currently would stay and work as is. New Characters: Prequels + CW: Ahsoka Tano + Asajj Ventress Mace Windu + Savage Opress Captain Rex + Cad Bane Padme Amidala + Jango Fett Bo-Katan Kryze + Pre Vizsla Qui-Gon Jinn + Darth Sidious Commander Cody + Dengar Plo Koon + Darth Bane (but as a spectre/ghost, similar to his appearance in Clone Wars) (I'm also very biased towards Embo, so to have a Light Side Hero to be his counter, I went with Jar Jar. oops). Each character got its own abilities, talents, pros and cons and skill. Every character is "good" depending if you know what you're doing, also each system, there is a hierarchy. Nerf or buff would mean that there is no difference in tier, thus losing the hierachy. Be selective, be strategic and know what you can do within the boundaries. It's the contrary, balancing would make it a nightmare game full of chaos. It wouldn't make sense... Can't you just deal losing to good players?

My point, which I think you even touched on, is there needs to be good reason to even pick characters that would objectively be less powerful in universe. Each character needs to be viable to play in an online shooter, otherwise there's no reason to play them. I think we have different concepts of balance. Of course a lightsaber Wielder should generally be able to handle a blaster character. But each blaster character should have a reason to exist and be as viable as another blaster character. Likewise each lightsaber Wielder needs to actually be worth playing and not always be superior to another lightsaber Wielder. Making every single character from the star wars universe be viable in game and different from another, that would be quite a task. Just considering Count Dooku, Ventress, Darth Vader, Palpatine, and Kylo Ren, each of those need to play different but probably shouldn't be objectively better than one another in game, because otherwise there's no reason to pick the weaker ones if that makes sense. Of course you can implement a system not too unlike the current Battlefront 2 system where different "Tiers" of characters exist and the lower tiers would cost less credits to play as and the higher tiers are more expensive. They didn't add Anakin at release ANAKIN the literal chosen one. He is the main character in episodes 1-6 . Star wars is the story of how he became evil, lost everything and then sacrificed himself to save his son. Disney does not understand star wars they brought back Palpatine which means Vader died for nothing .The was not saved galaxy by someone seeing the good in someone else could,it was saved by a girl with two lightsabers frying an old man to death with lightning . P.s. This is only my opinion. If you like the new movies then that is great I am happy that you can enjoy something I can't.

Anakin wasnt in the original Battlefront. The old Expanded Universe also brought back Palpatine which meant Vader died for nothing, it was stupid then and it's stupid now. Also keep in mind the Sequels were very much a directionless mess and Disney/Lucasfilms/JJ decided to take the easy way out by making their own version of that same mistake instead of working with the superior Duel of Fates script/story (which didn’t have Palpatine) or simply just committing to Kylo as the final big bad

I feel like on the topic of Grievous he would have had a 4th ability where he can detach his arms and have 4 instead of 2. Your probably asking “is it just for show?” No, when you have all 4 arms you will deal increased damage per hit but you will also drain more stamina per hit. So you can have the choice of dealing more damage or less and draining less stamina or more.
