They actually do suggest that in a scene where they explain fighting droidekas, it works because their shields only block high velocity objects, and this is also why they walk so slowly with their shields up.

Dude when all of them rolled up on that tank. I was like there’s no way that works and then I see it. That tank cowered in fear of the rolling death balls equipped with powerful twin laser canons. I have seen true perfection from this. Truly how these droids were feared and Hornet showed us how these very droids meant death if you was without any suitable arms or jedi.

Ya know. Droids don't have Grenades or Wrist Rockets. However. If a Game Developer would actually develop the Droids with their unique strenght, Grenades and Wrist Rockets aren't necessary. Because the Droids have the mosst special units in such a game. Spider Droids, Dwarf Spider Droids, Hailfire Droids, Crab Droids, etc.
