One of my biggest wishes is that someone polish this up and release it. Also a shame that there was never a Genesis version.

Even if the game was never completely finished before Tec Toy went and released it, Battlemaniacs is a surprisingly solid (albeit very easy) port of the SNES Battletoads in Battlemaniacs.

It's really weird to think Tec Toy was so desesperate to have new releases here in Brazil that they got an obviously beta version game and released it as a commercial game (cut-scenes are in wrong order, levels have no music, stuff are obviously missing... holy crap). And also it's always cool to see a game at this point of industry still being solo-handled by a single coder and a single graphic artist.

The potential was there… I guess they just ran out of time and resources

Street Fighter 1 was kinda popular in the UK, so that reference at the end doesn't surprise me too much...

They did a great job with this I hope some day somebody will tweak and polish this port as it’s already good for what has been done

Love the video thank you. Nobody complaining why there is no music on the turbo tunnel stage , im at this stage right now on original hardware. No music 😢 so for those who are asking in the future. No its no glitch, the game was programmed that way with no music on the turbo tunnel stage.

It would good that the original was finished, instead of been repackaged in Brazil.

This is crazy I never knew this game existed. Was there some kind of copyright to where they couldn't call it battletoads or something?
@yellowblanka60587 жыл бұрын
Wow, when you compare this graphically to Battletoads on the NES it really demonstrates the extra power of the SMS. Really resembles the SNES version, though obviously lacking parallax, extra color, frames of animation etc.

Yellowblanka Totally agree. But man, the Master System's music.... :( The NES owned hard on that front, even over the few games that supported FM. At least I always thought so

Oh yeah, definitely.

This game really pushed the Master System hardware but overall I’d stick with the SNES version.
