I'm pleased to learn I can get these through Amazon in Australia. I'm finding from all the play throughs I've watched, just how elegant the AI systems are that you've worked out. They are slightly unpredictable and that is the heart of any solitaire game system. Other than WH40K I have always been a solo wargamer, using systems from Charles Stuart Grant's book "programmed wargames scenarios" and systems of my own devising with flow charts and reaction tables. I like how your Ai isn't just "this or that" but units have a "if/then/or" options like how we used to write programs in BASIC, which gives them flexibility. And the great range of periods covered is very good as well, while I focus more WW2 I do like others periods, like Napoleonics and Medieval etc. I'm very much into miniatures and I can see these games translating to a tabletop with large hex maps etc.

Thanks for the positive comments. Funnily enough I used to write games in BASIC for my home computer in the 1980s. Pretty sure that's where my technique comes from!

I think you did a masterful job with the AI for this one as well as a terrific job writing the rules. This strikes me as more complex than some of your other games. The rules could have been daunting, but that isn't the case. Excellent. I have several of your games--all good. WWII is my preferred period for games and Battles of Normandy has been my favorite so far. But "Napoleonic Battles" may be edging it out. Thanks and keep up the very entertaining work.

Just completed my first scenario today. Was very impressed by how elegant the AI system. Was not difficult to do and the AI always acted in a rational way. I loved how the Square formation was implemented in this game. I had a cavalry unit on each flank and as soon as I came close to the enemy infantry they went into Square as dictated by the AI rules and later on came out to do more damage to my following infantry (after my cavalry had been decimated by the enemy artillary). Brilliant. I won on the last turn. It was not a chore to do as i feared it may be, and the game went in a nice flow as soon as it got into the swing of it.

Great game! But... it took me a while to realise that you actually talk about ALL available AI options, and that only some of them are used in each scenario. In fact, the instructional playthrough is very clear about how AI works, so maybe there's no need for this one (that appears to be more complicated than it actually is). Just a thought...

@@mikelambosolitairebookgames It never hurts to have clarifications. I don't think you should be discouraged from making clarification videos. Suggesting an extermination of these videos is honestly outrageous to me. I think to resolve this maybe state "additional clarification" in the title, but I don't think useful contents from the game creator should be outright rejected just because a few people didn't understand it.
