Absolutely gorgeous. So glad we are preserving our history.

Wholeheartedly agreed! It's no easy feat and I'm so grateful that there are people who care enough to make this effort.

Thank you. Well done. I am glad the USS NEW JERSEY is being maintained as a Museum Ship. Like it or not, the U.S.A. has contributed a great deal to preserve liberty and democratic ideals throughoutthe modern world. I am sad, however, that my brother, Rev. Tom Cook, did not live to see this day.

Thank you so much for your kind words! That means a lot to me. I agree; it's wonderful that she's so well looked after, and that she still receives the respect and attention she deserves! My condolences for the loss of your brother, by the way. I'm sure he is sharing in this moment in spirit!

What a well done and informative video! Killer footage and editing, and the sounds of the waves hitting the shore is so relaxing. Good stuff bro! Happy to see the NJ heading home!

My man, I cannot thank you enough for watching this and for the kind words! Really means the world to me, brother. I'm so glad we went down and got those photos of her in drydock that cloudy Sunday afternoon!

Excellent production. I wanted to get there to watch the move with that great light but I decided to save my energy for the return to Camden this week.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate it! I missed both segments of her move into drydock as I was traveling, and there's a 50/50 chance I'll be able to witness the return to Camden on Thursday, so I made sure to get down there for this move! I hope you enjoy the sight of her final move later this week! I'm sure that'll be a magnificent thing to witness! Please feel free to share if you take any photos/videos, would love to see them!

If I'm not mistaken the museum asked to have New Jersey in that dry dock because that was either where it was built or where it was fitted out in World War II. But ryan Szymanski over at the Museum's KZbin channel would be able to explain it better

Yes! I just watched a video on their Facebook page where Mr. Szimanski explained how this is her fourth time in Drydock No. 3. According to their video, she was put into Drydock No. 3 in December of 1942 immediately after she was launched, for the purpose of attaching her rudders and propellers and to remove the blocks upon which she was built. Absolutely mind-blowing!

Pretty nice with no doubt. I have recently thought about maybe taking a trip to see USS New Jersey, hopefully I could do so around the end of this month.

Thank you so much for watching! I highly recommend a visit to see her, she's an incredible ship inside and out. The tours offered onboard are fascinating and they have a wonderful gift shop as well as eatery! It's worth dedicating an entire day to visiting her, at a minimum!

@TrainiacProductions the ship would be returned to Camden at the end of this month, right? If so, then I would try going down there after that period of time.

Well worth the visit. If you go, the Museum of the American Revolution is across the river in Philadelphia. Thay have preserved and on display the actual tent that Washington used while on campaign. It's an incredible piece of history!

@tamer1773 I'll probably keep that in mind, but I maybe a little hesitant if that museum is located in a heavy populated area. Especially if I use my truck. But nevertheless, thank you.

Reopening will take some time, they had to dismantle exhibition s on regular visitor tour route before drydocking project so they will have to put all back in places.

You can really see how that black stripe was painted to make the ship look level at the mooring

Yes, when in Camden with all the tanks in the bow empty she is 10 feet higher in the bow than the stern. They had to add 500,000 gallons of water to the bow to make her level and settle onto the blocks evenly in the drydock. The next trip on the 20th with all that water removed the black stripe will be level with the waterline.

Battleship New Jersey also called The Black Dragon by enemy forces in Vietnam returns to Port after repairs. You have to see the ship in person video's don't show what a Monster this ship is.

I went to one of the drydock tours, it's hard to describe just how massive this ship is when standing under her propellers.

Agreed, only seeing her in person can put her size and the beauty of her appearance in true perspective!

Like to point out the ship is slightly tilted down because the weight is not being balances by the radar and a couple other things that keep ship balanced

I, too, was disappointed by the amount of litter; especially along the waterline. This was my first visit to this particular location but I loved it and plan to go back often. I will bring my litter stick and trash bags every time I return. Whenever possible I try to leave the locations that I visit much cleaner than I found them. Thank you for watching, by the way! Hope you enjoyed regardless of the park cleanliness!

Did the ship move under its own power?
@TrainiacProductions5 ай бұрын
The ship is not moving under her own power, but is instead being carefully maneuvered down the river by tugboats from McAllister Towing.
