@joewoodchuck38244 ай бұрын
@@chill_will9816 I don't think there's a propeller based on the detectable speed variations between oar strokes. So no, the oars aren't dragging much if any.

It needs sound effects like whips cracking and men screaming, now that would make it authentic. 😅

The original ship is a Venetian commando gallery. It was made up of professional soldiers and yes, there was a profession called Wierklich, they were called Galliottis, they were the rowers. They were professional rowers. Sorry, no shouting, no whipping, just a leather-soaked rag where the people were oiled so that they didn't get a probe burn.

@t3avelos5 ай бұрын
with all that work you have put in this model, it is a real shame not to have installed a sound speaker system playing the drum that gave the oaring pace to the crew. You can do it for extra pizazz, it's not that hard to record some track from the Ben Hur movie and have it play while the model is being powered forward! There is a specialized company from Italy that makes these sound systems, usually for piston engines but maybe they can adapt something for you and the drum will sound synchronized with the oar speed!

Bravo Zulu. Only thing that might make a tiny improvement would be a Hortator, the crewman with a drum beating out a rhythm setting the pace of the stroke for the oarsmen. & aspeaker playing drum music like Bear McReary's _'Fight Night'_ from Battlestar Galactica. _(I wouldn't know about that if not for Barry Sadler's Casca: The Eternal Mercenary. Good book & series)_

That's pretty neat to see something like that rowing mechanically for a remote control boat but if I remember there was a guy who did something like this in a movie called a night to remember what the lifeboats from the Titanic that heat used scaled down lifeboats and making the people on board rowing those boats and the guy's name was Jeffrey unsworth for the special effect meaning that they had to speed up the film a little bit and then they slowed it down to make it look very realistic as the lifeboats from the Titanic were trying to get away from the ship.
