@ivane51103 жыл бұрын
I personally liked the cardboard playsets better than the later plastic ones back in the day for the simple reason that, as a kid, later playsets were just things you either had or didn't have. But, the earlier ones were what made you realize that with just a little bit of cheap odds and ends (a healthy dose of creativity) you could create your own...and sometimes just as cool or cooler.

Exactly. My parents bought a desk and hutch for my room when I was very young. Playsets like this, saw that desk become a Star Wars convoy ship with landing bay, command room and multiple levels in the book hutch. Never did as much study as I did Empire fighting. And it was all done with boxes, packing inserts and coloured paper.

This is great, and along the lines of a project I've started working on myself. I'm nowhere near ready to make a video for it yet, though. BTW Michael, I'm stealing your line, "It’s about time, not complexity." It's going to be a tutorial, and I'm often dismayed at how easily people can be discouraged at the notion of making something themselves. Even the most inexperienced person is capable of handling a large project as long as they realize that it's mostly about taking your time and following the steps in order.

Cool Mike. I am currently collecting Battlestar Galactica, as you will see on my channel under the playlist of "Battlestar Galactica Collection", but recently I have run into a problem with one of the Cylon Centurion, and you will see it in the description box of my Battlestar Galactica Cylon Warrior, but the figure fell apart in my hands when reviewing it, and I have another one coming to me, but I was wondering if you could fix it for me. I would greatly appreciate it. The figure has a problem with the shoulder joints staying on due to poorly made plastic from the factory of Diamond Select Toys.

Hey retro blasting I know you only collect things from the past but I think I might’ve found a blast from the past in an unlikely place dollar tree is currently selling a toyline called final faction it’s about a war vs aliens trying to steal Human Resources the show has one episode out currently and the shows kinda garbage but the toyline has the 80’s written all over it. There 3.75 inches tall there’s 5 good guys so far and 3 bad guys and 6 weapons sets 3 good guys weapon sets and 3 bad guys weapon sets the next wave will include more of everything I just describe and vehicles!!! I hope you at least check out the toyline I think it’s right up your alley Michel! In my opinion final faction knocks anything hasbro is doing completely out of the water!

The most anti-climatic toy line ever. Whilst other lines had disappointments they had redeeming features. This toy line was under invested and must have been rushed to shops to counter star wars. No vehicles for the figures. Not enough produced. Cylons useless. Couldn't point a gun. Not themed around the episodes. The Western themed episode had lots of opportunity for figures. Mattel messed it up.
@brianartillery3 жыл бұрын
Yup, I agree. I had all the figures - and the only one I liked, was the Ovion. Starbuck and Adama might as well have had blank faces, the sculpts were so soft, that they could have been anyone. The Cylons couldn't even hold their guns in a threatening manner, and hardly stood. Imperious Leader was a purple and pink nothing with an afro. Daggit was fine, but out of scale. Where were Baltar, Athena, Boomer, and Apollo? There's a British word for this line, and that word is 'Shite'.
@justfrank31353 жыл бұрын
It really looks flimsy to me, would prefer plastic instead of cardboard. Went for 50 bucks on Ebay (already sold out) and that's a lot of money for cardboard without the tools to cut them. Also the lack of proper figures to place on the bridge doesn't make this desirable. Where are Tigh and Athena? Oh right: you will need custom figures. Starbuck needs to be on board of a Viper, not behind any desk on the bridge...
