Dedicating a full kickstarter to aerospace seems risky when that is the stuff that gets played the least I think. Better to update the rules and release a forcepack or two for it before putting so much into a product that might not do very well. They've also already stated they aren't going to do an era for the next kickstarter so it'll probably be region based. We already got clans and there has been a lot of general IS stuff released so my guess is something Solaris 7 focused.

I think they still have some merc force packs up their sleeves. If they don't do a MAC force pack with a reposed Devastator, Vindicator, jumping Wraith and something like a Huron Warrior they're missing a big opportunity.

I am not for the SWAG or fluff. I am for things I can field. Even fluff like Legends was nice, but I had to make choices. And I went for things to field on tabletop.

What they really should be doing is making their on-paper DA mechs into, ya know, actual miniatures. Novel idea, I know.

I think a lot more focus toward ilClan era is going to happen after they have served the existing, and much more popular eras. I can totally see a time when they are releasing a source book backed by new miniatures packs allowing you to play with the mechs that just saw major action in the fiction/setting. Not sure when they start in that motion. I would totally welcome DA mechs being done in this plastics line as well. I think we may see some limited J-DA era packs.

@@box2battle you have to hope they’ll eventually get there in our lifetimes. It’s bad business releasing product you want people to have buy-in for and then not really giving them the tangibles associated there with until years later. The amarok for instance…arguably a pivotal new mech in the hour of the wolf/ilclan storyline and we get it about two years later. To me, it just pushes people away from Catalyst revenue streams and into the 3D print world. Either way, I’m glad BT has new life and new legs and I’m excited I’m here for it.

@@BigBatts I hear ya. Yes. Hoping they get through whatever they perceive as the "backlog" of things to do and get on up to more current era. Hunch is they could do a trickle of first iClan era force packs in a year or so, but doesn't feel like they are "caught up" for another two years or so. Clearly I love to speculate and randomly guess. (shrug) Thanks for jabbering with me here. Appreciate it.

I have not ready every novel and the last one I did was Blood Will Tell. Yen-Lo-Wang was piloted by Danai Liao-Centrella as of that novel. Before that I know Kai Allard-Liao was the mech warrior who piloted the Yen-Lo-Wang. I don't everyone who piloted it before. In fiction, or at least in the Liao centered part of the fiction Yen-Lo-Wang is the "most dangerous" mech there ever was. Both Danai and Kai were Solaris gladiator champions. The mech has had refits from an AC 20 to PPC to currently having a shield and combat hatchet. In Blood Will Tell Danai had to send it back to Capellan space because it was so recognizable that enemy battle plans were centered around destroying the Yen-Lo-Wang and killing Danai. I think it is a cool mech and more than just a Centurion. I do not follow the Celestial Wisdom, so I do not know how much more important than any other mech it would be. I think a box that had the AC 20 variant, PPC variant, and Shield/Hatchet variant would be cool, but if I bought it, it would be because I prefer plastics and I think it would be Catalysts 1st mech with a shield.

@@box2battle Yen-Lo-Wang first appeared with that name in the Warrior trilogy piloted by Justin Xiang (Allard), Kai's father. At that point it had the AC 20. It next appeared in fiction in the next major trilogy when Hanse Davion had it upgraded with things like TSM and a gauss rifle and presented to Kai Allard-Liao.

"Couldn't fund"?.... The fund amount was only 50k. They had the resources and cash for that. This is one big preorder marketing move. They could do it no doubts there.

Was talking about funding general projects, not this specific KickStarter. Businesses often have to be very choosy about what efforts they invest in. My point here is that due to the success and demand seen, CGL likely gets to go do some things on their list that they have always wanted to do but never made the priority cut, for various reasons.
