Baker's Dozen is 13. It stems from the medieval period where baker's could get flogged for shorting customers on bread loaves. Baker's would make extra to cover their butts and avoid the whipping.

Yeaa seems like the authors of battletech seem intent on dumping on the old houses

These new rules are hot garbage imo. Really unnecessary. They could have just adjusted the rules they already have, they took the lazy route and just made Alpha Strike for Classic.

@korge1184 really? You didn't like then? I thought they fit excellent with the lore and MW games, in novels and video games the armor is an annoyance to mech forces, the old rules put them on par with mechs, these new rules do a great job of making them feel different from mechs.

I'm not saying the vehicles rules were perfect, but they fit with Classic. These are Alpha Strike Cards. I get the MW aspect, I love stomping vehicles in the Video Games, but if you look at something like TRO 3026, Vehicles are using the same tech as Mechs. Aerospace Fighters lore wise came before the Battlemech, and battlemechs reused a lot of the tech from the Aerospace Fighters. Also, they didn't just change the stats, they changed how they move and interact with the Classic ruleset. This was just a lazy design cause the Devs didn't want to actually fix what was there, they just wanted to dumb it down as much as they could for new players. To the detriment of the Lore and Ruleset.

@@korge1184 I don't care for alpha strike much either, I just like these rules in here, I like CBT for the mechs, but it's too dambed clunky of a system to get everything in there. I think it's a great compromise
