"We're going to move on to something really awesome" No, you did not move on to an AWS-9Q. You moved on to painting chips and scratches!

I enjoy using TurboDork's color-shift metallics. For Canopus, I've been using Electrum (a green that shifts to gold) with markings in Radium (a gold that shifts to green), and canopies in 3-D Glasses

Just wanna say I've used these guidelines to paint my first mech, a jenner, "seriously", and it turned out quite nice! Kudos!!

I just started painting a nightstar last night, first time ever trying to paint a mech, this will definitely help me finish 🫡

Nice job, but you forgot the lenses in the laser cannon to fill in the 5 minutes

That would be a great filler for that extra time.

This is fantastic. This channel will likely become my new go-to not only for tips- but for full instruction for mech painting. Thank you!

Nice mini. The Nightstar is such a unknown but beautiful min. I personally would love to see a Pirate Hunchback. So many possibilities there.

LOVE IT! Also excited to see this as an ongoing series! Definitely encouraged me to try some more dry brushing! Would love to see a good variety of faction paint schemes. Marik (Free Worlds League) Purple, Gold, & White; Clan Ghost Bear or Clan Sea Fox, or Draconis Combine (Kurita) Reds. There's so many. Can't wait to see you progress!

I have not played since the FASA days, but that model seems a hell of a lot larger then the old ral partha ones. Maybe its just the camera zoom.

The newer minis are definitely much chunkier and slightly taller, in general. Much the same as in the more modern illustrations they've gotten chunkier and a bit taller.

Very well done. I typically paint 25mm figures, so I need to get better at ‘adding scratches’. Good times. Looking forward to more of your Battletech videos!

Awesome work - the investment in paint must outweigh the cost of the Mechs themselves ? Good that you can paint many Mechs from each pot of paint 😁👍

really a great job! Only suggestion (minor) would be to put a full list of colours used at the beginning.

Great, love the series idea. More mechs. My request is either a Marauder II or a MechWarrior 4 Vulture. the later would probably need to be printed. But hay I'll print and send one if you want.

I have all the Sylology mechwarrior STLs, so I could probably make that happen easy enough :)

Sweet, my first MechWarrior game was Mechcommander 2. Loved me the vulture and Blood Asp. When i played MechWarrior 4's intro and saw the vulture fight to the end. I got chills, and was hooked ever since. 👍

If I'm not mistaken, the checkerboard pattern is formed from gold highlights on the navy blue. Not black on gold or blue on gold. Might make a difference. Otherwise good vid.

Awesome work. Your stage one 3-step drybrush basecoat blew my mind. I never would have thought about trying that. (Im not sure if thats a common technique in BT painting?) Im just getting started with BT painting. Most of my experience comes from fantasy RPG minis. If you were ever taking requests for rarer paint schemes, I am myself going for a Rasalhague's Gunzburg Eagles unit but am not seeing a whole lot of examples of their paint job for reference outside of Unit Color Compendium. So any other exampled or references would be helpful.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I'll certainly take a look at that colour scheme. I've been taking notes on people's suggestions and intend to paint whichever ones I can.

Great stuff Senior Shy, a fabulous looking mech in a pretty respectable time, impressive. My fav Mech has always been the Marauder and I'd love to see your take on Clan Jade Falcon... if you can bring yourself to paint up a traitor that is :p

Metallics on wet palette, have you experienced problems with pigment separating or metal getting in the sponge?
@TesseractMinis2 жыл бұрын
The pigment absolutely categorically cannot get in to the sponge, unless the liner paper is either incorrect, or punctured. They do tend to split a bit quicker on the wet palette though - but then if you're using them quickly, that's not a problem :)

Great video easy to follow not to much information or techniques to be overwhelming. Nice work getting it edited down 20mins feels good but I think the black video were you didn't film was weird maybe it should have gone back to you talking to the camera or atleast something on the screen other than black nothingness
