This is a great video and extremely helpful. My partner and I only recently started playing AoS and are both new to tabletop gaming, so there’s a lot to learn. I play Slaanesh so to get a good overview of the the warscrolls is great and it helps that you explain how they synergize with each other.

This was very good. I don't plan on playing Slaanesh, but just having you go over this and the Kharadron book helps me understand the system better. In regards to system mastery, I'm on the lowest rung, inept, however, I've been learning sooo much from this channel. I even watched my first competitive game on your other channel. Very interesting that they sort of stuck with the AoS 2ed design philosophy for this battletome when it comes to the linearity of the subfactions. Though to be fair the more I think about it perhaps the more flavorful that is for Hedonites given their very fractured allegiances and goals in their lore.

The Fane of Slannesh being Impassable and also quite big and wide has a lot of utility. Place it 3 inches in front of a unit of yours you don't want getting charged, block off a route to an objective, etc.

@48:00 you have a mistake. You are always contesting an objective or terrain when on it or close to it. At end of turn you check models contesting objectives to determine who has control. Otherwise the ability would be like that of stoneguard and says, objectives being contested by unit that you control

Do depravity points gibe me bonus immediately or at the end of some phase. Couldnt see it. So If I fight and gain 24+ depravity I instantly have this bonus?

I quite like it. Slaanesh isn't one of the armies I play but some of the things in it are I think encouraging and even if they may prove not implement led as well as they could have been, the ideas are there - temptation dice for example are a nice simple mechanic, really thematic and I like the interaction with the opponent -almost like a little mini-game. I hope the Khorne book does similar with it's prayers where this Slaanesh book has bespoke spell lores for the sub factions but then I don't think they have gone that route with other prayer scriptures. I don't know if this is a great book, but it's better than they have been and purely mechanically this looks like the one that would most make me want to play Slaanesh so far. Ace vid fella

@@VoiceofSlaanesh pretenders general with strength of godhood, flaming weapon, and then normal blissbarb seeker - save and contorted epitome spell. That combined with it's charge mortal wounds has an insane amount of damage output, I'm testing it instead of a keeper, less utility but if you need to go kill a thing it's more consistent. Solid euphoric killers target too.

the keeper of secrets is cool but those little foot heroes seem to outshine it. for 400 points you could get pretty much your choice of 2 smaller characters with some points to spare most of the time. being able to reroll casting on a 2 cast wizard and the masque's turn 1 character snipe possibility seem to be a better option imo(or any other combo tbh). you can very easily make up for the damage output and debuffs from the countless other places in the battletome. if you have a mortal based army thats normally pretty slow in comparison with a unit of 10 seekers and the masque you can almost force your opponent into deploying a certain way and that seeker/masque combo is only 20 more pts. with the ability to summon one by probably the third turn i dont see a huge reason to take one in the list

Especially the Temptation dice mechanic and depravity generation are... tempting... me :D amazing models and now they get amazing rules

hmmmm where is the point tax in every unit to account for the absurded free summon???? every unit cost roughly fair, with some underpriced even. but book can easy get 20 per turn unless rival takes 6d3 mortals, and once per turn a unit will get 10-30 points only for doing those wounds to some unit. so will we go back to slanesh 2.0 where they play 3k points vs our 2k

Do Depravity Points decrease when you summon units? Or the tally of DP only increases, giving buffs and marking your summoning limit for that turn? In older battletomes it was said to decrease points after summoning but in these new versions, also Nurgle and Tzeentch, is not...

Couldn't you use the 3D6 charge spell to give Sigvald up to 18 attacks? Also I had the thought that you could also do that with an Allied in Chaos Warshrine.

The 3d6 charge spell is only for the Caster. The Warshrine would work though

very excited for slaanesh players, they definitely deserve a nice tome for a change. i do wonder though: its got wards and hit penalties for everybody, some pretty good armor saves, attack penalties, hit and wound buff auras, attack buffs, save debuffs, strikes first, fights twice, mortal wounds on 6s, rerollable charges, run and charge, it fights, it shoots, and its got decent casting, access to a fast flying monster or a tough regenerating one, and a hero with a generous battleshock immune aura. so.....whats the downside? like they pointed out in the metawatch, gloomspite gitz are a bit cooked, but they've also got this big Achilles heel of pretty much army wide bravery 4 with no good ways (in tome) to mitigate it easily, they removed all the battleshock immunity and squig herd cant even receive commands. just at first glance after watching your review of the new slaanesh book, i dont really see a downside. kind of does it all, and does it well. maybe the points? only thing i can really see is that their dudes are a bit pricey, though it wouldnt say overly so anyways, great breakdown, look forward to seeing them across the table. glad they wont be on the struggle bus anymore

Bravery is 6-7 for mortals so not great unless running glutos and his bs immune aura isnt active turn 1, also they need their buffs to stack up to get the crazy high value. To fight them dont take any temptation turn 1 just deal with the mortals, if you can screen the masque and seekers from turn 1 charge by using things with very few wounds you can strangle their turn 1 depravity. The army might be a little to many spinning plates, they have amazing buffs and debuffs but stuff like shardspeaker + blissbarb seekers lowering saves are targeted so can only go so far if you engage in multiple areas. Also very few + to cast. If army still ends up too strong can easy tweak with just more points and making depravity tiers higher. I think knowing which units to hit turn 1 will be vital, but main goal is to not feed them easy depravity

I think is fair to call AoS 3.0 "High Fantasy" at this point as these battletome come out. Everyone gets the Oprah treatment it seems... "Your army gets OP abilities, and your army gets OP abilities,.....". I like to it - gives the realms a truly wild feel on the table...

Interesting, I think the intention was an army of below average warscrolls that can become above average warscrolls once you stack enough buffs and abilities on them. Biggest issue I see is that it looks very win more, if your dominating and engaged on multiple fronts you can get a lot of depravity points very easily but if you can get stuck early and denied. Very flavorful.

I'm pretty hyped for this rendition of slaanesh. I think the keeper is best summoned at 400 pts and the attack twice ability being once per battle seems like a huge blow to me. I think once of the stronger combos will be doing the blissbarb seekers + slickblade seekers combo together for that turn 1 DP farm will really launch the army's DP up, initiating - 1 to hit, and being fast, cause a great amount of panic for the opponent letting you capitalize on out of place units. The rest of army can clean up while the opponent frets about their loss and tries to take out the slickblades. Quick retreat and a rally later to toss them back into the fray. Ooh so hype much wow!

I love the new temptation rule because it's thematic, but I'm a bit disappointed by the shortening and expensivefying of the summon list. I could be wrong but I don't think depravity will be nearly as easy to come by (haha) as it used to be...

I really like the changes and it feels like a much better book than the last one but it also seems to rely on successfully overlapping buffs and debuffs, which might be too big brain for me.

For 400 pts. I will hear no more dissent about a 5+ ward on a 500 pt Stardrake if said dissenter is okay with this Keeper profile

I don't know about all of you, but this theme around temptation just hits the right notes for me. It's flavorful, it's unique, and it plays into the re-vamped depravity mechanic that was re-worked a bit. On the face, seems like a quality book to me.

I’m not sure what to think about this book. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting. I was really sad when the keeper didn’t get stronger in melee but then the more I thought about it if you put it in a pretenders army and stack rend and damage then it can be great. Either way it seems finicky as hell to play and is the opposite of what o usually play so will need a LOT of practice.

I feel nothing for Slanesh. I do think it's nice to see the counter to Gitz giving all it's units so many +1 to attacks, Slanesh gives lots of -1 to attacks to counter. That's nice. It's going to be pretty punishing against alot of armies that don't have a lot or any +1 to attacks. But ya the army just doesn't do anything for me. I do find it strange that say a unit like PAINbringers, are not the hammer unit....like...TWINSOUL, which you could argue having two souls means you're harder to kill, are not the anvil unit....like what's going on here? I don't know if this book is just really poorly written or GW hates Slanesh?

This book seems broken at the level of goblins, as heck is posible that blsibarb archers have the same damage(8'8 rend1 damage) than every other ranged unit of others book, but al these units cost 170\200 and blisbarbs only 140?????? And worse because it is a free sumon book where each unit must cost a extra expensiver to be balances with this free sumon. Only compare blisbarbs to irondrakes...........irondrakes have same 8'8 damage with treath range of 18" while blisbarbs have 32+" of treath range and if irondrakes move or have models in melle his damage is only 4'4 butnirondrakes cost 170 and blisbards 140??? Seriously i dont know what gw have tougth with this book, gonna be a hard nerf in one or two weeks because gonna be so broken as slanesh 2.0 was. Every unit need a nerf of 30% in his cost to be close to balanced

I really dislike the seperation between command traits, artifacts and spells(!!!!) into the sub factions. it's incredibly restrictive, especially considering how sub par alot of the artifacts are. Also, can GW please just try and write decent warscrolls for the true children of Slaanesh?! Dexcessa and Synessa should be brilliant!

Rob got temptation dice wrong. It's not one dice per phase. It's one dice per enemy unit per phase. So you can use all dice in one phase if possible.
