In addition a few members of the community actually have a ranked tracker in place, but the focus right now is pushing out a "balance patch" for strategy games. That is nearing a good place we can start ranked games again. The whole catalyst for that was the ability to "hop snipe" hop out of tank and instantly snipe your opponent ending games in 2 minutes or less lol

You can fire all of your weapons at once in BZ1, but in BZ2 you can only shoot one at a time (in vanilla anyway)

Played this game extensively more than one decades ago, years after it was released, amazing gameplay. Back then there wasn't a single multiplayer available lol, I think it was using a old multiplayer connection system like battlenet, never saw anyone connected lol.

Back then most computer hardwares coulent handle this game, funny to think about it. Building a base, sending units in battle, destroying enemies yourself, changing vehicles, attacking on foot...I never played a game this complete

I haven't ever played this multiplayer... curious why the lack of defense units (turrets, mainly) and if something like a daywrecker would be useful against a group of enemies like you see here?

You should try it sometimes, it's really fun. So the base version of the game, turrets are not good. Only one minigun, and usually by the time they react they are dead. However, we've been playing on a community balance patch version lately where the turret has dual miniguns and slightly more armor, and they are really viable as a line of defense especially when supported by other units. As for a day wrecker, it's very potent when it hits clustered units by they are so slow that any somewhat aware player will shoot it down before it detonates, so they usually aren't used without some other heavy distractions.

@@G4JVideos Ahhh... that makes sense. Didn't realize that turrets were quite so bad in pvp. They seem to do ok against pve enemies. And I didn't even know you could shoot down a day wrecker. That's good info. Maybe I should hop into the multiplayer and get my butt kicked. :D

@@G4JVideos so your a classic bz1 player did you play on 1.0 or 1.4 server? Also does grouping work when you create a group to attack believe it or not the original supports grouping Bz came with the cheat sheet with a bunch of options seeing i used joystick i didn't use some of them options what about alliances does that work? Im also curious when you get hit by double mags does the screen go bright red or did they tone that down.

@@jimmynolet3752 Haha yeah I played BZ since release but MP only on 1.4, 1.5 and now the redux version. Grouping still works. Alliances still work. Basically all those core features still exist, as far as the dual mags I'm pretty sure it's still very disorienting to get hit by both and a one shot depending on the vehicle you're driving. If you ever want to get back into BZ let me know we have an active discord!

@@G4JVideos i didn't patch up to 1.4 because of the red flash of death by double mags we had more players on 1.0 than 1.4 during our peak because all the games they sent out world wide were missing thier patch I was the best player on 1.0 until a russian guy named {LT}Perets grew up and started beating me regularly those Russians really brought a fight. We had a bunch of Clans {LT} {DK} {ZB} {AK} {XXX} {PW} and {-0} I was leader of the AK (Ass Kickers) I had up to 30 members at one point on your server sometimes i would play with the ARF and we did a lot of Red Oddy matches back in the day but the problem with those guys was they loved thier walkers vs bomber matches too much

@@jimmynolet3752 Yo that's sick! I wish I was around in those glory days. I will say we have some top tier stratters active in the discord still, a couple of us stream/upload. DM's also now and then. BZ is still a very good game. There was even a red odyssey strat tournament a few years ago!
