Just offered water and food and a lot of them said screw this I’m not fighting America for a army that won’t even feed us and supply water. I don’t blame them for surrendering.

24:40 this is a prime example of the kind of people leading our military today. This guy brought up Vietnam and quickly regretted it. We have amazing men and women across all branches, but they are severely limited by ever changing politics and the leadership. You will meet very few soldiers, that respect and or trust their co's. 9/10 it falls to nco's or what I commonly saw---they trusted nobody but the soldiers beside them. Our military needs to evolve before its too late.

First thing we learned in journalism school editing class was to be careful to monitor the background music/effects volume against the speaking voices/narration. Evidently these people either failed that class or weren't there that day. I watched for 4 minutes and strained to hear what the narrator was saying and then said "see ya". If you can't that right, you should probably look into another line of work.

1st comment! That’s unusual for me. George H W Bush did it right. Had a finite objective, accomplished that objective and left afterwards with no mission creep.

The only problem with that was not being prepared to put in a new government for Iraq to function after leaving causing extremists groups other than that when the military has a clear objective their unstoppable

I think the forces necessary and the planning to establish a stable state after war are a logistic nightmare for the US. It’s a task that would need more than 1/2 attention to, so you can’t tackle a problem like then when you’re also trying to tackle other problems around the world/ at home. If done in such a way, the country could end up becoming an official part of the US instead of being returned to their people

@@jo-ce1nn I think you are thinking of the second Iraq war this is the war where nato was defending Kuwait and there was a stronger international coalition than the second more controversial war. This war we didn’t take out Saddam so there was no extremists after we left. That wasn’t until he was eliminated and there was a unique power vacuum because he was Sunni and most the country was Shia, so it was revenge time for them against the Sunni’s after years of oppression under Hussein. One of biggest mistakes was after killing Saddam Wolfowitz disbanded the Iraqi army, probably so he and Cheney could make contractor money on security and rebuilding. All that did was put a bunch of well trained military age men out of work and pissed them off. It also made security a nightmare almost immediately because we didn’t have enough troops for a long occupation. Muslim countries also hate being occupied so we should have left their army in tact and helped them with security and logistics, this would also make it look less like a foreign occupation to the citizens.

It's ironic, Saddam never learned his lesson from this experience, and in 03' I'd fight again in Iraq and take the damn country in 3 weeks. America's enemy needs to learn from their experience, but even then, our tactics and technology are ever-evolving and you don't stand a chance... So how do you defeat a nation as powerful and experienced as mine? Study history. Answer the question... how did Roam fall. And when you figure out the answer, you'll know why conservatives in this nation are so very concerned.

I’m older than you and did my tour in Vietnam but I have a better analogy for you. How could Germany, a civilized modern republic, become s fascist state within a few years. How could they forfeit their democratic principles in favour of a sociopathic authoritarian leader and the paramilitary thugs that supported him? Look at Jan. 6, study history and you’ll understand why the liberals in this country are so concerned.
