Any Lanolin based product (fluid film, Woolwax or Surface shield) is leaps and bounds superior to any paint product(paint, bed liner, por15 etc). Repair Geek has the most in depth videos on the coating and the FB group for Lanolin coatings. Paints trap moisture accelerating rot. Lanolin oil coatings stay wet, self heal from chips, block oxygen aka stopping the chemical reaction to form rust. With the right spray equipment all metal is coated including inside rockers, inside doors, inside frame rails etc. I've been doing it annually for 8+ years on my own stuff and it shows. I've seen others with many more years and no rust where other similar aged trucks are rotting away in the typical spots. Rinsing off salt after storms: use a chemical such as salt-away or similar to neutralize and rinse off better than water can

Fluid film is awesome. My dad has had multiple Toyota Tacomas. He gets his fluid filmed every year and he never had Rust on his trucks. Live in northern Pennsylvania so the roads are salted heavy. Many Toyotas around here had there frames replaced.

My only question is why are you using crew cabs ?

Bed liner will make that truck rust faster. You do not need to go down a gravel road after fluid film. Just gotta reapply

For the road department I work for, we use Calmag sprayed on the salt for anything roughly 25* and under. You can really tell the difference when using juice and not using juice.

A conveyor chain is a pain in the butt with keeping it lubed... the auger is a breeze...it's a grease fitting. You have to adjust tension on the coveyors... replacing a conveyor is harder than an auger in my opinion. Now... the conveyor wins because it can spread sand... an auger cant.

With Fluid Film they recommend doing it in warmer months so it can creep, work easier into nooks and crannies. You can do it in the winter. Dirt roads aren’t necessary. I get my truck Krownd every year and I don’t have any dusty/dirt roads near me and I have a nice layer of coating on my frame. I don’t recommend bed liner on the body. Clean, treat, and paint the rockers. The bedliner most likely is a rubberized coating of some sort. With a rubberized coating it can get a chip in it, salt/brine can get behind it and rot it from the inside out. That’s why a lot of people don’t recommend Ziebart undercoating which is a rubberized coating.

I also commented about the krown undercoat. It works wonders!

You shouldn’t use bed liner it will just rust from inside out just clean and paint and just keep on it.

If you use a beet juice salt brine it is less corosive then just using salt.

You need to be fluid filming film if you want your trucks to last, we just sold an 09 f-250 that was a plow and salt truck its whole life, the frame was still mostly black with only some minor rust in some of the seams. I was shocked at how well it protected.

Stan only problem with box or auger box spreaders they will freeze if really cold and augers can pack if do alot of driving between plow sites. Theres a reason they now come with a dump function. As much as i would love to use a box spreader, they have their quirks. I use a boss tailgate spreader, put dry 50 lb bags, and it holds 14 bags. Although it can be a pain to fill a few times during a storm.

Stan, I’ve got my truck Krown undercoated every year since new. It’s like a fluid film product but a shop sprays it on. They spray it in the rockers bed sides all nooks and crannies underneath. It works wonders. Fluid film works good also and you can do it yourself. But it’s ideal if you had a heated shop or do it before it gets too cold so it can soak

I’m so confused thought Zach left after a couple videos but didn’t see “ I’m done” but yet he’s here? Is he gone or no? Ran into him not long ago at holiday and bought him his stuff but he didn’t mention anything
