BATTLING BEGBIE: Climbing in Revelstoke BC

Mount Begbie is located in the Gold Range of the Monashee Mountains. This glacier-clad peak is situated on the west side of the Columbia River above the shores of Upper Arrow Lake.
At an elevation of 2,732m (8,963ft) it's a very prominent peak, visible from anywhere in the town Revelstoke down below.
After a failed attempt to claim the peak the year prior, we head back to mountain this year to try again and see if we have what it takes to get to the top. Opting for a single day push, we packed light and set out early to get revenge on the peak that turned us away.

Great adventure. I'm surprised with the low depth of field you are getting from the GX8. Also like the route graphic. Adds great info to the vid. Well done. On the climb too.

We were really happy with how the GX8 performed on the trip. Minimal weight and tons of features to explore. It's definitely not the last time we'll be shooting with it. Thanks for checking out the video!

Sick video guys! The patience paid off. How did you find the scramble to summit? Was the route finding straightforward? I am making an attempt in the coming week.

Hey thanks JJ, The scramble up from the ledge is really straightforward and quick. I'm not sure if there is a common route, but we managed to fire straight to the summit with no issues. Very little exposure once you're past The Ledge. Good luck on your trip! It's such a terrific climb.

Great video. We've tried for the top twice this year and have had to turn back both times because of the weather. The first time it was too foggy and a couple of weeks ago, it was because of a nasty lightning storm that rolled in once we were on the ledge.
