Thank u.... Hi Lenna....at 0.54 seconds in this video ,the artist is demonstrating holding a veena.....and it is not supposed to be in Chouka hands...the left elbow is positioned in a way as if holding the top of top instrument.....hope it helps...

What is batu?

Batu is the 2nd repertoire form of Odissi dance.. like there are 5 stages of odissi repertoire, Batu is the dance dedicated to Shiva or Batuka Bhairava .. It's basically choreographed by Guru Padmavibhushan Kelucharan Mahapatra ji and similar to Batu there's Sthai which is by Adiguru Pankaj Charan Das and Debaprasada Das.. it's the 2nd dance performance Odissi students learn after Mangalacharan 🙏🏻🙏🏻
