Appreciate the efforts that your entire family including children took carrying the bricks & pales of sand up the steep hill, for the Hindu temple. Great to see you inculcate respect & acceptance of other cultures in your kids, from a young age. This is what's needed in the current world, to make it less chaotic & livable again....

besides FRIM, i recommend Bukit Cerakah(National Botanical Garden) in Shah Alam. you gonna spend your whole day inside bcos there are many activities and places to visit in that place. you can take ktm komuter train from KL Sentral till Batu 3 Shah Alam or Padang Jawa. then take uber/taxi ride about 5km.

Correct me if am wrong... I assume you guys staying somewhere near Jalan Jelatik in Setiawangsa.. If my guess is correct, by taking lrt to KL Sentral meaning you guys going southbound, then northbound again via KTM Komuter toward Batu Caves...that mean distance traveled is much further via rail transport as compared to road transport (grab)...thus the reason why the cost was more expensive
@WheretheJones
@WheretheJones 6 жыл бұрын
Wan Naziran Wan Taib your guess is spot on. Definitely the reason for such a large price difference. But we have since made some more trips and Grab barely beats out the train in terms of cost. However we still take it because Bman loves trains so much.

less time depend on the shuttle schedule... i am not sure how it runs now... haven't been to batu caves for a long time now... as for cheaper its 2.80 per person .. and the feeder passes before this cause 1 ringgit.. don;t know if that is free now....
@WheretheJones
@WheretheJones 6 жыл бұрын
ashtriana1 ok. Makes sense. We want to broga hill as I mentioned in another comment and worked out just about the same cost to travel the exact distance from station to station but when you factor in rides to the station and away from the station to the destination it was much cheaper to just use grab. So even if we used the right exact tram Grab still wins in the price and time category.
@ashtriana1
@ashtriana1 6 жыл бұрын
haha you are making a u-turn detour using the train... actually u can go to the gombak by lrt then take a feeder bus to batu caves..fyi you can also catch a bus to genting frm this staton....
@WheretheJones
@WheretheJones 6 жыл бұрын
Would that be cheaper you think...and less time?
@ashtriana1
@ashtriana1 6 жыл бұрын
the time depend on the shuttle schedule ( but gombak station is only 3 stations away from setiawangsa and i think it takes 10 mins - 15 mins... i am not sure how it runs now... haven't been to batu caves for a long time now... as for cheaper its 2.80 per person .. and the feeder passes before this cause 1 ringgit.. don;t know if that is free now....

and food option in KL Sentral...are not only the usual suspects but there is a food court opposite the kelan ajaya line station... serving local fares (briyani among others)
@MrCyberizal
@MrCyberizal 6 жыл бұрын
take grab/uber from gombak lrt station. cheaper.
@ashtriana1
@ashtriana1 6 жыл бұрын
no wonder they don't suggest this option... there are no shuttle bus that stops in front of batu caves... you have to stop at sri gombak and walk and it takes about 30 mins to walk there.... where as if you take a uber from thegombak lrt station it is just a 12mins drive
@MrCyberizal

Where the Jones no wonder. Looking at the maps.. setiawangsa to batu caves is very near. Grab uber is nice. And by taking lrt . U have to go backwards to the kl sentral passing by the city and take the train.. and that is why it takes hours.. the other option is to take LRT from setiawangsa station to Terminal gombak. From there to batu caves using grab will cost u around myr6 but the journey was nice right. 😘Love your family videos.. the videography looks very sharp especially at the house area

Where the Jones I brought my British neighbor to have an In and Out alternative burger with charcoal bun. He was so upset with me the following week because the desire still lingered in his mouth and he can't go due to work! Burgerlab first restaurant is located in Sea Park in the suburbs of Petaling Jaya. Reckon a 25 mins grab ride on a Sat for you. Try the in out alternative and the Nasi Lemak burger. You may Google or KZbin them.

Vincent Chin that's hilarious. And surprising for an In&Out fan. Well unfortunately we are heading for Thailand right but maybe next time. Hopefully someone craving a good burger Traveling will see this comment. Not easy finding a good burger in KL. I tried.
