@ingoal Please settle a debate, I insist that the function of the elastic straps as part of the 5-point harness are for holding the backplate on the mask, and serves no function in deflection or absorption of forces from pucks and that the materials and shape of the mask are what absorb and dissipate energy. My counter argues that the elastic straps on a goalie mask act the same way as a crumple zone in a car and their function is to deflect and absorb these forces. Who is right?

We've definitely heard both sides of this argument but we're not sure if this has actually been tested or not - though there are lots of opinions! I wouldn't wear a 940 or 950 for street ball hockey. You should be ashamed of yourself for saying this is pro level mask.
