Welcome to Army Stairwell housing, the most common style of “mediocre” living quarters for incoming families in the small city of Baumholder Germany.
If you’re stationed here, you’ll be apart of the Kaiserslautern Military Community, which is the largest U.S. military community outside of the United States.
Baumholder housing is split into two areas, Wetzel and Smith Barracks. Today we’re focusing on a 3 bed 2 bath stairwell home on Smith Barracks. The current resident’s rank of this home is an E5.

Our tiny stairwell in wildflecken would fit in the entire living room! Rooms were tiny. I swear both the rooms had to have been a closet! It was tiny! 🤣🤣 I slept in the living room most nights! Good times though!

@@illwillscuts it really all depends. We didn’t pick anything through our sponsor so we stayed at the hotel about a week-give or take. There’s several empty apartments but the building might be shutting down so no space. I’ve heard several people are being sent out in the economy which actually hurts their pocket in the long run. Living on post has its perks with not having to worry about utilities.

How about you show one of the ones that has not been fully redone! That has the floors with random stains, no laundry room, no dual voltage broken windows and leaking radiators…. As everything you Show has been fully redone and that is absolutely NOT the reality of housing here!

The reality is… I’m one☝🏾 human being providing REAL LIFE home tours to a community of 200,000+ Americans preparing for a military move to Germany (because housing will not), and you’re complaining to me about not showing a specific type of home. I’m sorry these homes are too nice for you to look at. Next time I’ll ask the community to let me see exactly what YOU want, or maybe you already have a playlist of homes we can all see? 🤔
