The thing about Baus is that he's only motivated to play what he has theorycrafted. The problem is that theorycrafting needs time and multiple iterations. You obviously can't do that with tournaments, since losing isn't the same as with ranked. This is why Baus can't really do well with tournaments, because he can't experiment with things. Even just a small mistake could cost him the entire tournament, so his experimental plays end up as just fruitless inting.
