Did you make that circle clamp at 4:52 or did you buy it? I like that idea. I have the black version you have sitting there.

So, I am looking at 6:09 and it is unclear if you have a screw connection to your taking lens or not. It doesn't look like it. Plus if you did how would you be able to align the anamorphic lens after screwing it into the taking lens? I think a lot of us would like to know the answer to that. In some shots the lenses don't seem aligned. So, do you just push the B&L into the face of a filter adapter on the camera, or do you screw it in.

I had the same problem with my KOWA 16-H. Getting the vertical images vertical takes the ability to rotate the anamorphic lens.

Where did you get that round support that holds the lens up? I might want to get one.

Shawn, my question to you is, How is the B&L lens attached to the taking lens? I see the filter adaper ring, but is it screwed onto the taking lens AND the B&L lens too? If so, how can you adjust the anamorphic lens so that nothing is slanted? Because, if everything is screwed tight, then you cannot make that adjustment. I hope you see this and clear this up for us.
@Gonzalez_FilmsАй бұрын
@@jmoss99 with the rail system I use all my anamorphic lenses are just shimmied back as close to the taking lenses as possible ,you can rotate the lens while the camera is on to see if there is any skewing present make sure you use a flashlight or light source to get a flare and get that flare as level as possible.
@jmoss99Ай бұрын
That is the answer I was looking for. What about light leaks? I have a few KOWA projector lenses like the 16-H and there I have to use a clamp, but with gaffers tape wound thick on the lens. This keeps light leaks low, but also something for the clamps to dig into. Shimmied? How does that work without scaring the taking lens? I can see how you do it on this lens, but what about 16mm lenses that can touch the glass of the taking lens.
@jimmoss9584Ай бұрын
I think you will have light leaks where the filter adapter ring is. Unless you used some black material that compresses, like thick foam. Then cracks that will produce light leaks will be stopped. We will never know.

Hello Shawn, can these cinemascope lens be used to attach to the front of a long throw laser projector lense to de-squeeze an anamorphic video image. No one seems to talk about how to display the anamorphic images.

hello Shawn, after seeing your video I bought a lens like the ones you show and I have a question, why does the bokeh look oval horizontally and not vertically? the lens flare looks perfectly horizontal, but the bokeh looks horizontal too when put in the correct format inside premiere, the video image will look perfect in all its proportions, only the bokeh problem, I think I bought a weird lens because Only with my taking lens I can focus from 30 centimeters to infinity without needing anything, I repeat, but the bokeh is stretched horizontally, my taking lens is 50mm f095, thanks for your videos

You might find an expensive lens for free in the street or 20$ in a flea market, but it doesn't mean it worth 20$ just the lens cap worth more, KZbin is full of these comments about vintage cameras and lenses bought for 20$ ...comme on even a Bell and Howell 16 mm lens worth more than 20$.
