BMW 800 and 650 GS

@@lancea I am thinking of getting a 650gs but keep on getting told to rather go for something smaller to have fun as an adventure rider. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your honest opinion on the 650?

It all depends on what type of riding or roads you plan to ride. The 650GS used to reliable but their age is starting to change that. For tar and gravel highway riding the 650GS will do. If you plan to do anything like the baviaankloof or similar then definitely go for the lighter 250. There is plenty of info and discussion on this topic on the Wild Dog Adventure Riding forum.
