Thing is without the first two live action films with Alice (Milla Jovovich) I wouldn’t have gotten to known the video games so they hold a special place in my heart. The moment I saw that it “based off the capcom video game) etc. I was like “what?!??” Then bam I’ve played almost all RE games released.

Bawk said it basically at the very end, but the thing I hate the most about the overall quality of RE movies we got is that most of the RE games have like the easiest template ever to make at least a decent movie that stays relatively faithful to the original while still having room to take their own liberties. The fact that studios have made like what, 4 separate attempts? at making a movie RE universe and are all pretty bad (even if some are at least fun to watch) is like crazy to me. How hard is it to make a movie with 2 police teams going into a scary mansion, have them picked off 1 by 1 by the various monsters in it, uncover the secrets of it, have a traitor plot twist, and then have setup for future installments? Like they can rearrange the deaths, mix up the teams, expound more on STARS members that are barely mentioned in the game, and hell even give us a canon ending of all 4 survivors actually surviving. Same can be said with most of the RE's up to like 4 I feel.

I agree 100% that Marvin is badass and deserves a game with Rita however, Tyrese got a huge upgrade in the RE3make and everybody loves Mark in outbreak and Josh in RE5 too. There are plenty of black badasses in RE games that need more love.

I do agree that removing Marvin from Welcome to Raccoon City was a bad call. They didn't had to switch the races of the characters to make them look badass when they could easily used already existing characters and give them the love they needed to be badass. If there is a race they wanted to represent, then make a new character because it is your movie. You might call me a horrible person for that thought but it just shows more lazy writing than anything else. "Hmm, how do we put as little effort as possible to represent people of color?" kind of thought.

My friend took me to watch Welcome To Raccoon City. I didn't want to go but she did for my bday. She didn't know why I didn't like the movie until I made her play the Re0 and the remake series. Then I made her play original 4 games, which Re1- Re3 og then ReCVX. She finally realized why I hated. This is not including that she hasn't played Re4 OG and outbreak series and other games that came out. She is playing Re4 OG because she hooked with Re series now and is interested in getting Re4 Remake after and playing it. But I also showed her the first 2 Resident Evil movies and she liked them alot. I rememberd when my brother took me to see Resident Evil Apocalypse before the movie was released out in the public. That movie is still my favorite.

I can't remember what was the first horror movie I ever saw, it might have been Halloween to be honest though. What was crazy was as a kid, if I remember right, it is Halloween 3 with the masks right? Well I think it was that one and my dad happened to have one of those masks too. You know. You said that even shit movies can have great scenes but you didn't talk about the good of Infinite Darkness. Bruh there were some Leon scenes that were amazing. There was a scene where he tells this uhh. "Krauser Replacement" about what happened in Raccoon City and it was fucking amazing. Props to Nick for the acting there. "I remember hearing people screaming, moaning" "You can't save a city if you don't give a DAMN about the people in it" Also an interrogation scene. "Start talking!" Some guy tries to reach for Leon's gun and Leon says "Try it, pal" that's so fucking good. Also he hit on some Asian girl. He's got a thing for Asian girls ain't he? 😏 PS: Not gonna lie. Infinite Darkness Leon, sets up what RE4 Remake will be like and I love it.

I actually liked the 3rd one, it was a bit jarring going from "canon" to post apocalyptic but it was pretty fun one if a bit dumb, but resident evil is pretty silly series you have to admit, the rest of the films after that are just escalating the baddness and sillines to 11 so i havent watched past the 4th. Animated ones are weird but in a good way i guess, plot is all over the place, but its more about the action and it pretty alright i guess, i like the movies better even if some people trash them.

About the million cuts in a single action scene in a movie; Bourne movies are horrible at that as well. I took vacation time from work to have off on the 24th so I can play RE4 remake all day and go see John Wick 4 that evening. John Wick does great with not having a million jump cuts.

The Anderson films go without saying, but I always laugh when fans consider the CGI movies to be canon. I don't care what Capcom might claim. They just need to ignore them as the convoluted, out-of-character trash they often are and move on. Vendetta and I.D. ruin the lore when included.

It's not about representation, it's about making yourself feel important. I'm a guy and a minority but can identify with Jill, a russian-asian woman, or the other characters. I identify more with their personality than their appearance. Also, the change main character because people want to feel important instead of making the struggles important. Race swaps are lazy and, when a show boasts it, shows why they did it. Just to pander and excuse bad execution.

I knew Resident Evil welcome to raccoon City was going to be shit from the beginning and the Resident Evil Netflix was no better. The one thing that annoys me is this Force diversity that Hollywood constantly pushes in their movies like changing the race of a character or changing their skin color i hate when they do that because I feel like they're disrespecting the characters Jill Valentine was not half black and Leon was not Indian and they did the same thing with Albert Wesker in the Netflix Resident Evil by making him black and he was not black in any of the video games. When they do this they make people angry imagine if they changed blade and spawn White you would get the same result and is the reason why I do not watch anyting Modern Hollywood nowadays they have no respect for these franchises and they have no respect for the source material. I least enjoy the Resident Evil CGI movies not the best but enjoyable. Japan I think does a little bit better of a job of doing live-action abdications of their properties and a half time they're not good and become absolute dogshit and sometimes they don't even follow the original Source material of their properties.
