T7 premiums are above my self-imposed budget limit for this game, so she won't be seeing my port. Did have one in a game yesterday, but they contributed almost nothing to the battle, so the high skill ceiling is definitely a thing.

You're right, it's poor survivability keeps it at long range early game and it's hard to effect battle outcomes from way back there sometimes

I use lemonier with beyond range,Igniter,engine boost that conceals me skill,fixated and fully packed Inspirations:Gunichi Mikawa and Von muller for concealment &movement speed Upgrades:Aiming mod 1,steering gears mod 2,Concealment mod 3 and AA damage mod 4 ...this build works well for me 🤘🤘

I really enjoy this ship. The firepower CANNOT be underestimated. Basically, just use islands against BB's and destroy DD's. I spec all the way into AP pen. It WRECKS battleships.

Do you spec your French cruiser commander with the armor pen secondary commander in slot 7 or 11? Or does Bayards shells pen most BB's by itself?

Hello! As Bayard arrived later than Plymouth, WG unintentionally pushed themselves away from many "credits". Who grabbed Plymouth earlier, they will not even consider picking up Bayard... and if i have to choose between the 2, then i would go for Plymuff. She's an interesting ship, but it think it's too late for her now. High skill, high reward ship with the dev strike punishment if you make a wrong move. /no heals to correct mistakes, overpens are highly unlikely at this tier and against T8./ Me personally will stick with Charles Martell in this nation. Yes the sonar has to be sacrificed for the reload booster, but I rather sling 203mm shells around every 4-5 seconds than 152s every 3-4. Plus as a "kiting" nation which feels herself the best when played from range, that 4.4km sonar is not a big loss... Otherwise nice video as always and please keep up the good work Derka! o7

You have a really good point, both of these stand alone T7s are really really good, they should have separated them. Like you, I would give Plymouth the nod as well, but Bayard is strong imo. A well timed reload boosters can wipe a DD or cruiser off the map, or deal large damage to a BB. Interesting that you choose Charles over Bayard! But my div mate said the same thing yesterday so there's something to that. Thanks for your Incite Kriv 😀

​​@@DerkaGames One more pro on the side of the Charles Martell is the turret layout. With 75% firepower at the front and excellent turret arcs, bow in and kiting situations feels much more natural and comfortable for the ship. Without exposing much of the citadel. Bayard is more like the RN cruisers. Where you have 50/50 firepower distribution and you have to expose your citadel for full salvos. I know many players compare her to the De Grasse, but imo she's much more of an "altered" version of the Algerie. I always considered Algerie as the "ugly duckling" of this Tech Tree. Mainly because as soon as you get used to the 2 in front and 1 at the back turret layout with 3 guns each, Algerie comes in and slaps you in the face with the 50/50... 😅 And this is the part when Plymuff gets a bit of praise. (Sorry) She just has too many guns. 😅 Despite the 50/50 firepower distribution, in a bow in situation you have 8! guns in 2 turrets at your disposal. 😅 Bayard has her place in the game as well and as you said the RLB is strong with this one. She can be fun! 😉 Sadly the price is a bit steep when Plymuff is already in your port. ☹️

I don't know if i just have bad luck with this ship, but the fire starting ability catfishes me every time I decide to dust it off. It looks awesome on paper... 12 guns with very high HE fire starting chance, great reload time, great range, great 180 turn time. But then I play it and after an entire match, I've only started 5 or so fires and my total damage reflects that. Like i said, maybe I just have bad luck with it? I do know that I wouldn't buy it again.

Seems like a good ship, high skill floor but that's how i like them, but 17.500 doobloons ? Man they can wait, that's literally 7 campain for 1 ship, tier 7 should have been stuck only for Gxp On a side note i might have found a utility for the legends version of Flandre, as it seems like we'll never get the secondary buff, i tried a Roux build (lvl 15/3 recquiered) with Kondo and Swirsky, with the special speed boost perk i managed to get the concealment at 9.8 km with said speed boost, that's actually insane, i literally sneaked on a freaking fiji trying to cap smoke xD i'd say try this with Richelieu its really fun (do point out that i only had 2 games and 1 with JB, i'll play more tomorow) but this build is insane with Jean Bart, 9.8 concealment with the 10sec MBRB on 8 380s is broken I'm gonna post the build on wowsbuilds under Flandre

Man I just got the ship two days ago in a Xmas package. Maybe a year ago you could have this kinda game. But in about 6 matches I played in it. It was horrible in every sense. When. Going up against tier 7 8 and super which I was matched up against all 3 in the 6 or so matches I played. This ship does nothing but set fires but to hit anything you have to play behind an island or just catch an idiot. But you have no chance head to head on most other ships. I sold it and used the silver to buy the bureau battle ship. And I'll admit. I'm not a great cruiser player. Nor is sitting behind island's my game style. So maybe alot of this is on me. But

She has her moments, but yeah it's an island spammer for sure. Lots of shatters and lots of hiding, without the heals it's hard to trade with other ships you're right

Tier 6, 7, 8 and LT also have a rudder module in slot 3. So you could do double rudder (rudder in slot 2 AND 3) or Prop mod in Slot 2, and rudder in slot 3

Sadly, this ship does not offer anything to make it stand out amongst it's peers, and does not have any gimmicks that make it worth while. Speed Boost only and no heals - just not worth 17k dubs IMO.
