I think she is just struggling to find a middle ground, same with her vocals at times. She's both an amazing singer and performer, but seems to lack control. I wonder if she was some sort of golden child in YG and was endlessly praised and got no constructive criticism, but with time I'm sure she'll get there

YG idols are known for their individuality more than for their group and the chemistry itself. That's why with EVERY YG group you have the individuals catching your eyes and getting your attention instead of the whole group, and this happens a lot with the choreography. And yes they are the type of company that says "girl, dance whoever you want.. you do you", and that's why I LOVE YG a lot in that sense because their idols feel more human and relatable than the groups from other companies that feel more.... robotic and superficial (this make them feel more like a fabric product).. YG idols are more free in that aspect, they improvise a LOT. This is why they have such insane solo powerhouses like G dragon, Taeyang, PSY (former YG artist), CL, Jennie, Lisa, Rose, etc.

Babymonster's choreos were made for live stages. They are known to be performers who are almost not using backtracks and performing with the rawest vocals possible. So imagine if you gave them hard, hyper choreo it's gonna be hard.

Once again. I clearly say just because the choreo is laid back doesn’t mean it should be uninteresting. I said nothing about making hard and hyper, it needs to be better and more dynamic and that has nothing to do with difficulty. Many other groups sing live even with challenging choreo, NMIXX, Stray Kids etc. They can also

There isn't a lot of dynamics but when you watch them live they add it themselves, also gotten remember they do all there preformances with hand mics so seems they are simplying the choreo compared to for example Batter up's or their pre debut stuff.

Baby Monster is preparing for a world tour in 2025 and the emphasis is live vocals with hand held mics over a 3 hour concert.. The choreo has been toned back to allow more effort on vocals over 3 hours in a live full stadium concert. The girls will be likely freestyle a lot in the encore.

Once again. Like I said in the reaction, toned back/laidback doesn’t mean it has to be uninteresting. Hence my ateez example. They also sing live but their choreo is dynamic and interesting. The two can co exist

I think YGE has a bad concept for them. They are all great singers and should highlight that. Instead YG is forcing this more hip hop based style that only suits some of the members. It’s like NMIXX . Talented girls but weird concepts

I agree, i think some of it is believability. Like, i just see a bunch of kids trying to be more hip, more "hard" than they are. It's like just a step above kidz bop sometimes.......I blame YG for that though because they are trying to force the 2ne1 mold on them. Blackpink got that treatment too but was older when they debuted so it was also less of an issue there. It also doesn't help there is a group like XG out there right now that comes across believable for what they are doing. For NMIXX, honestly a lot of their songs have grown on me (dice in particular) as time has gone on and the most recent album was not bad at all.

Everyone keeps saying Ahyeon got hate but her issue was over dancing and being out of synce with the members. She was told to match the members and since then has been under dancing which is not what fans wanted. I think this excuse is just being used for her lack of control and not being able to find a middle ground for her dancing. My issue is, if your response to hate is to go to the next extreme I think you're insanely childish. People hated on her for the overdancing but YG literally told her all she needed to do was relax to match the other members for ONE SONG. Her doing this is so disappointing because it genuinely feel like it's to spite people and lacks a genuine care to try. Edit: Also at the end at the last Drip chorus showed that she can give the same energy and then in the same few seconds she suddenly just stops, like she knows what she is doing.
