She could have introduced you to her parents as simple, saying 'He is a Filipino/Pacific islander from an island nation in 'Asia-Pacific called Philippines', the only Christian nation in Asia, the friendliest people & also they speak English as their second language'. I guess it's the better introduction of someone that is from the Philippines because its quite unique & not being associated or mistaken usually as Chinese or any other Asian😅 & for me it sounds more interesting & makes me want to know more about the place & the person.
