While not in the same universe, he likes to imagine that Phantom and Phantasmaraneae are actually related, and that the latter just ended up entering the Bayonetta universe, though he stated it’s just his head cannon. Though obviously they’re not the same, Phantasmaraneae is indeed a reference to Phantom from DMC 1.

The angels designs are so goddamn horrifying (especially Iustitia, Temperantia and Sapientia). And exposing their flesh when beating them up just puts the icing on the „f that and everything related to it“ cake

Even before exposing their flesh, seeing their porcelain looking skin stretch like that is so … uncanny. It really feels like these unholy (ironic) abominations shouldn’t exist, yet they somehow do. It‘s borderline Lovecraftian. Even more so in the following games.

I sucked at Bayo 1 and was never able to beat it. I wanna track down a Wii U copy and try to play through it again on easy difficulty, because that's literally the only way I'll be able to get through this game. Sapientia is definitely my favorite boss, at least in terms of appearances. It just looks so cool. I love it. I think Temperantia is my favorite fight. So much fun.

Jeane - Umbran Witch is one of the least fun boss fights I've ever had. All the Jeane fights have this problem where you think you're safe to do a combo and then she just parries, but the fact they take away your witch time so it only happens at the end of specific combos just feels like the developers breaking the established rules in order to dissuade you from playing further. All the quick time events are busted so they're literally impossible without cheating and the final stage always results in me dying because the camera gets stuck.
