The original few seasons of Baywatch were not actually badly written and both Shawn and Elena, despite being known previously for their physical beauty, did a great job acting. Too bad the show devolved in later years but some of the early cast were awesome.

This is not a great episode. The script really doesn't come together at all. But apparently the network made the promo and then told them to make an episode to go with it. So they did the best they could under such circumstances. And totally worth it for the Newmie moment. Him getting dialogue in the first two seasons is so rare, so it's awesome when he does.

It's not the best episode but definitely in the earlier Seasons there was some decent writing even though people say the writing was terrible but I think the show did devolve later but people watched it to unwind and just have a little fun. I was a kid and thought it was cool and Knight Rider was in it.

Season 1 was actually pretty decent because it was on network TV, the actors & plots were better. Unfortunately it was cancelled by NBC after season 1 and went into syndication- thats when it became cheezy with the really bad plots and we were all just watching it to see the women.
